Beveiliging Silverstone in hoogste staat van paraatheid

De terreurdreiging rondom de Britse Grand Prix is vrij hoog. Daarom is het veiligheidspersoneel van Silverstone in de opperste staat van paraatheid gebracht. Afgelopen week kwamen nog dertig Britten om het leven bij een terroristische aanval in Tunesië.

Het is ook tien jaar geleden dat er bommen afgingen in diverse metro's in Londen. De Daily Express stelt dat speurhonden worden ingezet in Silverstone. De Mirror voegt daaraan toe dat een gewapende politiemacht op standby staat om in actie te komen, mocht dat nodig zijn.

Een woordvoerder van Silverstone liet weten: "Omdat we een groot sportevenement organiseren waren we al in hoge staat van paraatheid. De risico's zijn ingeschat door de politie van Northamptonshire en aan de hand daarvan is de beveiliging aangescherpt."
