FIA spant zich in voor lagere kosten in Formule 1

De internationale autosportbond FIA maakt werk van het verlagen van de kosten in de Formule 1. Dat verkondigde voorzitter Jean Todt op een persconferentie in Mexico City. De torenhoge uitgaven in de koningsklasse van de autosport staan nu nadrukkelijk op zijn agenda.

Todt: "We willen de Formule 1 verder verbeteren voor de komende jaren en de kosten reduceren. Dat betekent een verbetering van de show en een afname van de uitgaven, om de ontwikkeling en aanwas van teams en deelnemers voor deze klasse te verzekeren."

De Fransman hintte ook naar een andere verdeling van de inkomsten. Daartoe is de FIA niet bevoegd, dat is een kwestie voor de FOM, maar Todt wil er toch wat aan doen. "We weten dat de distributie van het geld niet in balans is en daar werken we aan."

    Je wil er iets aan doen maar je bent niet bevoegd, dat schiet dus geen meter op.

    Budgetcap is prima, maar dan niet ten koste van de ontwikkeling van de huidige motoren graag. Dat zou namelijk MB in een nog steviger zadel brengen en dat is iets waar ik in ieder geval niet op zit te wachten. Met het oog op regelverandering in de toekomst is dit wel een goede zaak. Maar dan dient dus wel iedereen vanaf 0 te beginnen lijkt me.

    Kosten reduceren? Als ze nu eens kijken naar wat het ons tot nu toe heeft gebracht? Totale dominantie van Mercedes. Andere motorleveranciers met een achterstand, mogen hun motoren door de tokens niet verder ontwikkelen.

    Wat dacht je van een betere inkomstenverdeling en de 350miljoen die jaarlijks verdwijnt proberen terug te halen...dan hebben de kleinere teams meer slagkracht...natuurlijk bemoeit de FIA zich niet met de verdeling van gelden...maar toch, de grotere teams redden zich wel...Ik kan geen enkele sport bedenken waar jaarlijks zoveel geld verdwijnt in de zakken van aandeelhouders, en niet terugkeert in de sport...dat is de kern van het probleem.

    Laten we per F1 auto 10 liter brandstof besparen, door voor miljoenen een iets zuinigere motor te bouwen om vervolgens nog meer te bezuinigen door teams te verbieden hun creatie te verbeteren. Er is vast wel iemand die weet wat de prijs is van een V8 of V10 motor, in vergelijk met de nieuwste batterijen techniek. Gaat het hier eigenlijk om racen of om zo weinig mogelijk geld uitgeven? Dan is de beste bezuiniging om helemaal te stoppen.

      Ja, het heeft er natuurlijk niets mee te maken dat de motoren fabrikanten willen laten zien dat ze een sportieve en toch zuinige motor kunnen bouwen ...

      En dat soort fans wordt dan om hun mening gevraagd ...

    Het is simpel. De nieuwe mototformule is mislukt. Nu al.
    Onder de streep zijn de motors helemaal niet zuinig, als je de besparing aan brandstof tegen de kosten van de techniek afweegt.
    Daarnaast hebben we Cosworth verloren, en Honda gewonnen, een einst van 0%.
    Wel heeft het 1 team de kop gekost, bijna een 2de, en hebben vele teams grote problemen. 80% van de fans is niet te spreken over het geluid, en op den duur zullen de circuitbezoekers verder afnemen. Dat zie je nu al gebeuren hier en daar.

    Echter, de FIA is te trots en daarom te blind om in te zien dat deze formule niet werkt. Het is natuurlijk bemoedigend dat men brede banden, grotere vleugels en motors met 1000 pk wil invoeren (eerst zien, dan geloven), maar het zijn opnieuw extra kosten bovenop de al giga kosten. Het zal alleen werken als het samen gaat met een budgetbeperking.

    Maar dan nog, de formule klopt nog altijd niet. De kosten zijn veel hoger dan de baten. Maar terugkeer naar V8 of V10 zal de FIA als een blunder zien, en Mercedes zou gaan jammeren en dreigen met stoppen.
    Ze hebben er in ieder geval een flink potje van gemaakt.

      Oplossing is er bijna al niet meer. In ieder geval moeten een of meerdere partijen door een zuure appel heen. Maar wie is de grote vraag. De FIA en top teams door terug te gaan naar V8? Of zo doorgaan en kleinere teams naar afgrond? Batterij en energie recovery eruit en dus niet meer groen en link naar toekomstige auto-industrie? Ik ben de draad in ieder geval kwijt en ik ben niet de enige vermoed ik. Het woord dat je veel hoord het laatste half jaar is BASIS. Maar hoe naar basis, staat nog niet geschreven.........

    Zolang de teams meebeslissen over dit heikel thema is een oplossing verder weg dan ooit. De FIA is geamputeerd en kan geen vuist maken. In feite moest de F1 als volgt beginnen: Wil je meedoen? Dan zijn dit de regels punt! Het feit dat teams vetorecht hebben over regelgeving is al te krom voor woorden. Trouwens, hebben de teams met hun grote mond al een eigen competitie succesvol opgericht? Dacht t niet.
    De FIA moet transparanter, geldstromen, bevoegdheden etc. Fans willen dat weten, althans ik wel. Maar dat zal nooit gebeuren omdat het een corrupt zooitje is daar.
