Sauber prepareert grote upgrade voor Singapore

Het team van Sauber werkt aan een reeks updates voor de auto waarvan de introductie gepland staat voor de Grand Prix van Singapore. De Zwitserse renstal hoopt daarmee een tweede impuls in korte tijd te bewerkstelligen, aangezien ze in België de beschikking krijgen over de nieuwste versie van de Ferrari-motoren.

Teambaas Monisha Kaltenborn deelde aan Motorsport.com mede: "We zitten dicht aan tegen waar we thuis horen in deze sport en waar we traditioneel gezien ook altijd hebben gestaan. Ons pakket is dit jaar veel competitiever dan vorig jaar. Dat is voor een groot deel afhankelijk van het chassis en de aandrijflijn. Onze motorenpartner heeft deze winter een flinke stap gezet."

"De ontwikkelingswedloop bijbenen is lastig voor een team met onze beperkte middelen, maar voor Singapore hebben we een grotere upgrade in de pijplijn. Voor het zover is krijgen we eerst nog een verbeterde motor, dus ik ben vol vertrouwen dat we dit seizoen nog wat mooie dingen kunnen laten zien."
