Red Bull Racing plukt Key niet weg bij Toro Rosso

Red Bull Racing is niet van plan om James Key weg te plukken bij kleine broertje Scuderia Toro Rosso. Bij het opleidingsteam van Red Bull heeft Key bewezen een ijzersterk chassis te kunnen produceren. De STR10 is een van de betere auto's van 2015. Geestelijk vader Key zou voor Red Bull Racing de nieuwe Adrian Newey kunnen zijn, zo klonk het.

Red Bull Racing houdt echter vertrouwen in de huidige technische mensen. Teambaas Christian Horner: "We hebben helemaal geen belangstelling in James. We hebben een sterke technische staf. Newey is nog steeds betrokken bij het team en met Rob Marshal, Pierre Wache en Dan Fallows hebben we capabele mensen in dienst. Bij ons leeft niet de wens daar iets aan te veranderen."

"Natuurlijk proberen we het altijd beter te doen, we zijn nooit tevreden. De reglementswijzigingen deze winter deden ons pijn, meer dan dat we verwacht hadden. Maar we weten waar onze zwakke plekken liggen. We zijn op de hoogte van wat we moeten verbeteren en hebben voor ogen hoe we dat gaan doen."
