Whiting lovend over werkzaamheden in Mexico

Een delegatie van de internationale autosportbond FIA bracht recent een bezoekje aan het Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez te Mexico City. Op dat circuit vindt als het goed is op 1 november de eerste Mexicaanse Grand Prix sinds 1992 plaats.

De baan is grondig gerenoveerd en de werkzaamheden zijn nu bijna klaar. De onvermijdelijke Hermann Tilke stond uiteraard garant voor het ontwerp. Christian Epp overziet het project en liet zich ontglippen dat de verbouwing voor tussen de 75 en 90 procent klaar is.

FIA-wedstrijddirecteur Charlie Whiting is lovend over de progressie. "Ik ben onder de indruk van de voortgang en de kwaliteit van het werk. Ik was hier bijna een maand geleden ook al en het is een wereld van verschil. Ik heb alle vertrouwen dat Mexico op tijd gereed is voor de Grand Prix", ving El Mundo Deportivo van de Brit op.
