Fittipaldi: "Persoonlijkheden ontbreken in de F1"

De controle van de teams op de rijders loopt de spuigaten uit en zorgt ervoor dat coureurs zelden tot nooit meer het achterste van hun tong laten zien. Dit tot groot ongenoegen van Emerson Fittipaldi. De tweevoudig wereldkampioen vergelijkt de huidige generatie met robots.

Fittipaldi deelde aan Motorsport.com mede: "Communicatie speelt een grote rol in hoe men de rijders ziet. Een woord om te omschrijven wat nodig is, is vrijheid. In de VS heeft iedereen de mond vol van vrijheid van meningsuiting. Maar als je voor Ferrari racet, dan krijg je voor elke persconferentie te horen wat je allemaal niet kunt zeggen. Wat een onzin is dat! Zijn het robots? Of zijn het persoonlijkheden? Dat is wat er ontbreekt."

"Nico Rosberg zou het gewoon moeten kunnen zeggen als Mercedes zijn race om zeep helpt. In plaats daarvan gaan ze braaf zitten en geven allemaal politiek correcte antwoorden. Bah. De coureurs moeten karakter tonen. Het is ze niet eens kwalijk te nemen, het systeem is verkeerd. De interactie tussen de rijders en het publiek moet in mijn ogen beter kunnen."

    Het kunnen niet allemaal flapuiten zijn. Met een Hamilton, Verstappen, Button en Alonso hebben we er in ieder geval een paar die hun hart op de tong dragen.

      Inderdaad en je ziet hoe hysterisch de haters hier worden als die coureurs dan iets zeggen. Helemaal niet zo'n gek idee van Rosberg dus om gewoon zijn mond te houden en niet te klagen.

      Tsja, waarvan Hamilton degene is die pas zijn mening geeft NADAT er iets is veranderd. Voor de rest is het ook PR prietpraat. Maldonado mag ook in het rijtje, altijd leuk, interviews met onze vuurspuwende nummer 13!
      Button en Alonso hebben tenminste vanuit hun eigen overtuiging wat te melden en komen daar zelf mee, iets waar je Hamilton niet op kunt betrappen. Halverwege het seizoen jonge rijders even de grond in trappen vind ik ronduit ongepast. Zeker omdat juist die rookies het fantastisch doen.
      En Max, tsja, die is jong en onbevangen. Doet niet aan politiek en maakt van zijn hart geen moordkuil. Zegt ook geen sorry, iets waar heel veel coureurs wel last van hebben. Als je iets vindt dan zeg je dat en ga je niet een uur later zeggen dat je het niet zo bedoelde. Hopenlijk blijft Max zoals ie nu is; een verademing tussen alle onzin die er gespuid wordt.

      Ja, als je bijvoorbeeld de commentaren leest op Verstappen op grandprix247 dan word je er droevig van.
      Ik hoop dat ze dat bericht van Fittipaldi snel plaatsen daar, als tegenwicht.

      Nou Max is gewoon een held Silversource, dat onderscheidt hem al van de gemiddelde Nederlander.

      Ik heb je altijd een toffe peer gevonden Fitipaldi, maar nu moet je toch even naar Max kijken hoor! Da's echt geen robot, maar een supertoffe peer. Een nog toffere dan ik jou altijd heb gevonden zelfs!

      Max is de grootste robot op ericsson na, altijd geforceerd politiek correcte antwoorden geven. Hij wilt heel graag zo volwassen overkomen.

    Denk dat coureurs voldoende kunnen uiten of ze ergens wel of niet blij mee zijn. Al worden ze ook direct afgezeken (door de haters) als ze dat doen ...

    Rosberg is overigens uit zichzelf zo overdreven politiek correct. Wel een heel slecht voorbeeld dus, maar Fitipaldi zal wel alleen de klasse waar zijn zoon in rijdt volgen.

    De sponsoren leggen overigens honderden miljoenen neer om de heren met een autotje rondjes te laten rijden. Me dunkt dat ze dan ook wel wat eisen mogen stellen aan hoe ze zich publiekelijk uiten.

Voetballers, wielrenners en schaatsers luchten toch gewoon hun hart als het bagger is gegaan? Laat iedereen maar lekker zijn mond open doen. Een beetje meer beleving vind ik wel verfrissend. Nu zap ik weg zodra de interviews beginnen, je weet toch al wat er gata volgen...

      Maar goed, als je altijd wegzapt als de F1 interviews beginnen dan snap ik dat je ook niet weet dat ze daar ook best hun hart luchten.
