Russische GP bestrijdt verontrustende verhalen

De Grand Prix van Rusland gaat dit jaar gewoon door. Met die boodschap tackelt promotor Sergey Vorobyev de verhalen dat een financiële strop het evenement bedreigt. Russische media en FAZ meldden eerder dat de organisatie een lening van 64 miljoen aangevraagd had.

Vorobyev bezweert dat de centrale overheid zijn medewerking verleent en dat er geen vuiltje aan de lucht is. Hij betoogde op Motorsport.com: "Ik ben er zeker van dat de Russische Grand Prix in 2015 en de jaren daarna in Sotsji plaats vindt en gewoon door gaat. Alle voorbereidingen voor de race zijn gaande en er is niets aan de status van ons evenement veranderd."

"Ik geef geen commentaar over eventuele leningen of niet. Ons doel is om de operationele kosten te dekken met de inkomsten van de race. Daarbij laten we de betalingen aan Formula One Management buiten beschouwing. Ik ben ervan overtuigd dat we die doelstelling kunnen verwezenlijken."

Poetin is een te trots man om zo'n internationaal evenement na 1 jaar al weer te verliezen door financiele problemen. De man zal zolang de banden tussen hem en Ecclestone goed zijn wel farant staan voor de GP.

    Poetin is een te trots man om zo'n internationaal evenement na 1 jaar al weer te verliezen door financiele problemen. De man zal zolang de banden tussen hem en Ecclestone goed zijn wel farant staan voor de GP.

    Zolang die Poetin daar aan de macht is moeten de jongens elk jaar naar dat walgelijke circuit. Helaas heren, we gaan nog een stuk of wat keer de GP van Rusland zien. Terwijl de helft van dat land loopt te verhongeren gooien ze elk jaar gewoon 60 mil stuk.

      Saai circuit ben ik mee eens, maar russen verhongeren ? beetje te veel NOS journaal gekeken misschien?.
      Racen is de USA gaat toch ook gewoon door, ondanks dat dat land failliet is..en de grootste staats schuld OOIT in de geschiedenis heeft.
      En nog eens 45 Miljoen mensen op voedsel bonnen leven..tsssk.
      Putin voor Rutte any day.
