Williams zet zich schrap voor moeilijk Hongarije

Het team van Williams vraagt zich hardop af waartoe het komend weekend in Hongarije in staat is. De Hungaroring staat te boek als een langzaam circuit. Op de vorige langzame baan, Monaco, kwam Williams totaal niet uit de verf. Felipe Massa en Valtteri Bottas kwalificeerden zich buiten de top tien en scoorden geen punten.

Vice-teambaas Claire Williams blikt tegenover Motorsport.com vooruit: "We hebben na Monaco veel geanalyseerd om onze zwakke plekken op langzamere circuits en de oorzaken daarvoor in kaart te brengen. We weten dat de engineers hard werken aan oplossingen. We wachten af en we zien wel. Het wordt moeilijk, maar Silverstone is ook een van de zwaarste races op de kalender en daar hebben we de Grand Prix geleid."

Bottas is hoopvol gestemd. "Ik denk dat we het in Boedapest moeilijker krijgen dan in de voorgaande races. Maar ik heb er vertrouwen in dat we toch voor een goede klassering kunnen knokken. We hebben meer neerwaartse druk aan de auto toegevoegd en dat zou ons moeten helpen in Boedapest, maar we weten het niet. We gaan alsmaar vooruit."
