Honda schroeft ERS-capaciteit op voor Hongarije

Honda gaat komend weekend in Hongarije meer vergen van de energie hergebruikende systemen, ook wel ERS (Energy Recovery Systems). De MGU-H en MGU-K zetten energie van respectievelijk de uitlaatgassen en de remmen om in extra vermogen. Honda hield tot nu toe wat marge ten behoeve van de betrouwbaarheid, maar schroeft de capaciteit van die systemen voor de Grand Prix op de Hungaroring op.

Dat liet motorsportbaas Yasuhisa Arai weten aan F1i.com. "Het doel voor de afsluiting van de eerste helft van dit seizoen is om precies om te gaan met het energiemanagement en ERS volledig te benutten zodat de coureurs kunnen schitteren op deze baan. De Hungaroring is een bochtig circuit, waarbij de meeste bochten langzaam tot gemiddeld zijn. Door de hoogteverschillen is het lastig om er in te halen."

"Elke bocht is technisch en krap, maar je hebt een bepaalde flow nodig waardoor het anders is dan een stop-and-go circuit. Door het gebrek aan lange rechte stukken en de weinige gedeeltes vol gas is deze baan niet erg veeleisend voor de aandrijflijn. Echter, door de vele ondulaties vereisen precies energiemanagement en toepassing van dat vermogen in de lagere versnellingen bij het uitkomen van de bochten."

Ik ga ervoor dat 1 persoon de race niet haalt dit keer misschien nog wel de outlap naar de grid toe...
Maar serieus je zou toch denken dat ze dit langzamerhand wel onder controle hebben.
Ik had persoonlijk als Honda gezegd fuck de regels en gewoon alles beter maken wat ze maar konden kijken hoever de FIA wil gaan. Ze willen de sport toch gelijker hebben, Honda heeft zo'n grote achterstand dat ze gewoon meer tokens nodig hebben.

  Ja inderdaad mee eens. Gewoon doen wat nodig is en de straffen maar voor lief nemen. Desnoods elke race een nieuwe motor als dat ervoor nodig is. Dit is toch meer een testjaar.

Beetje meer power is altijd goed! Hopelijk blijft die Honda eens heel..
Hongarije is een baan waar ze net zoals in Monaco wat punten kunnen binnen harken. Dus het wordt een belangrijk weekend voor McLaren-Honda.
