Lotus zet de samenwerking met Siemens voort

Het team van Lotus en partner Siemens hebben het samenwerkingsverband voort. De Britse renstal maakt gebruik van de Fibersim software-portfolio van Siemens voor composites engineering. Daarmee kan Lotus elke carbonfiber individueel vorm geven.

Technisch directeur Nick Chester: "De E23 Hybrid van dit jaar is voor tachtig procent op die manier gecomponeerd met ongelooflijk complexe en uitdagende hoeken en rondingen. In het chassis alleen zijn duizend lagen en meer dan dertig verschillende soorten carbonfiber verwerkt."

"Fibersim vormt al meer dan een decennium lang een vitaal element in het ontwerp en de realisatie van dat proces. Dankzij de samenwerking met Siemens hebben we volledige controle over de kwaliteit en de consistentie van alle carbonfiber-elementen die we in Enstone produceren."

Gezien het aantal nieuwe onderdelen dat ze moeten fabriceren met Maldonado achter het stuur is het vast en zeker een vruchtbare samenwerking ;-)
