Ecclestone hoort positieve verhalen over Monza

In Monza werkt men met man en macht om de toekomst van de Formule 1 op het historische circuit te waarborgen. De baan heeft een na 2016 aflopend contract voor de Grand Prix en Bernie Ecclestone stelt zich star op in de onderhandelingen over een nieuwe verbintenis.

De Brit verlangt van Monza dat ze hetzelfde betalen als de overige Europese racelocaties. Vorige week werd een belangrijke stap richting behoud van de Grand Prix gezet. De senaat ging akkoord met het beschikbaar stellen van een belastingvrije investering van 20 miljoen euro voor de Formule 1-race en de modernisatie van het circuit.

Dat zijn positieve verhalen, vertelt Ecclestone aan Autosport. "Dit is uiteraard goed nieuws. Laten we hopen dat ze kunnen doen wat zij hopen dat ze kunnen doen. Laat duidelijk zijn, wij willen niet weg van Monza. Maar ze moeten wel aan dezelfde voorwaarden als de overige Europese circuits voldoen, we doen geen concessies meer."

    20 Miljoen klinkt als veel geld, maar als het geld voornamelijk bedoeld is als fee voor Ecclestone blijft er weinig over voor renovatie. Zelfs als je die 20M gebruikt voor renovatie is dat al aan de krappe kant lijk me, maar ik ben benieuwd naar de plannen. De baan zelf is prima, gaat het dan om het opknappen van de paddock of de tribunes ?

      20M is bij lange na niet genoeg. Hoeveel fee wil Ecclestone per race hebben? Dat loopt al in de miljoenen. Dus met die 20M kunnen ze misschien 2 jaar de fee betalen en een klein beetje renoveren. Daarmee is de race niet gered, maar is alleen het einde een beetje uitgesteld.

      Had vanmorgen ook al een linkje naar wat interessante wetenswaardigheden mbt circuits en fees gepost, maar of het mag niet, of het moet nog geverifieerd worden.

    Als mijn belastingcenten toch die kant op gaan, doneer ik graag aan het circuit van Monza want die moet echt op de kalender blijven.

    In een onderzoek van Autosport is gebleken dat de fans enkele beschermde statussen wensen zoals Spa, Silverstone, Duitsland, Monaco, Monza. En dat zou eigenlijk ook moeten, dit is de bakermat van de sport.
