Ferrari bood als enige volledige steun aan Haas

Gene Haas had voor zijn gevoel weinig te kiezen bij de keuze voor een motorleverancier voor zijn eigen Formule 1-team. Alleen Ferrari was bereid om de Amerikaan volledig te assisteren bij het opstarten van zijn eigen renstal. Dat zei hij bij de opening van een Haas Factory Outlet in Portugal.

Haas: "Ferrari wilde heel graag met ons samenwerken. Niet alleen op gebied van motoren en versnellingsbakken, maar ze boden ook hulp aan voor de wielophanging en elektronica. Als nieuwkomer kunnen we elke steun op gebied van infrastructuur en de auto goed gebruiken."

"Bij de andere motorleveranciers was het alleen mogelijk om krachtbronnen af te nemen. Geen versnellingsbakken en dan moesten we zelf nog de ophanging bouwen. Ferrari was zo gul om aan te geven welke informatie ze met ons mochten delen onder de reglementen en daar hebben we gretig op ingespeeld. Zij waren bereid te verkopen en wij wilden kopen, dat bracht ons bij elkaar."

Ja ik denk dat Kimi staat te trappelen om bij dit team te rijden. Wat nou Ferrari, iedere rijder droomt er van om op een dag in een Haas F1 bolide te rijden....

Nee,.. als Kimi niet bij Ferrari mag blijven, gaat ie echt niet meer naar een ander team,

    Prima toch, ik ben wel erg benieuwd bij dit team.

    Het is toch geweldig dat Gene Haas al jaren bezig is met het opzetten van het team, er zou zo maar iets moois uit voort kunnen bloeien. Geen overhaaste beslissingen om Caterham/HRT/Marussia over te nemen en toch maar dit jaar in te stappen.

    Een paar snelle en ervaren jongens (Vergne/Hülkenberg/Sutil/Buemi/Alguersuari/Pic) in die wagen en dan wil ik het wel eens zien :).

    Met de steun van Ferrari hoeven we niet eens raar op te kijken als ze 'gewoon' meedoen in de middenmoot.

    Ik verwacht dat Haas wel met een snellere auto dan Manor op de proppen komt, en wellicht ook iets sneller dan Sauber maar verder verwacht ik toch geen grote wonderen.

    Voor Hülkenberg zou ik Haas zien als een stap terug. Voor Vergne zou het zijn laatste kans zijn, zijn F1 carrière een nieuw leven in te blazen en Gutierrez vind ik eigenlijk gewoon niet goed genoeg voor de F1.

    Lijkt me niet zo gek, Amerika is een belangrijke afzetmarkt voor Ferrari en dit is natuurlijk gewoon goede reclame en er nog betaald voor krijgen ook.

    Ik denk dat ze wel ergens rond Force India/ Sauber komen te staan. En als STR geen betere motor krijg zie ik Haas ook nog wel meerdere races boven hun eindigen. Maar veel zal toch ook wel afhangen van de coureur. Maar ik vermoed dat goede mensen voor dat team vinden niet een groot probleem wordt.

    Uiteraard speelt hier ook dat Ferrari belang heeft in de USA.
    Maar dit soort steun is voor een nieuw team wel heel prettig.

    Als ze door de steun niet achteraan beginnen in het veld heeft dat nog een voordeel. Met meer auto's tussen de voor- en achterkant van het veld (zonder dat er meer tijd tussen gaat zitten) is de kans op meer spannende momenten tijdens de races ook groter. Als ze achteraan gaan aansluiten brengt het niet veel voor de F1
