Button bedwelmd en bestolen in vakantievilla St. Tropez

Het is niet het jaar van Jenson Button. Het seizoen in de Formule 1 verloopt matig voor de Brit, terwijl hij afgelopen week op vakantie bedwelmd en beroofd is.

De McLaren-coureur is met zijn vrouw Jessica en een paar vrienden op vakantie in het Franse St. Tropez. Zij waren in een gehuurde villa toen de overval plaatsvond. "Twee mannen kwamen het pand binnen toen iedereen sliep en ze stalen een aantal juwelen, waaronder Jessica's trouwring," zei de woordvoerder van Button.

De woordvoerder zei tevens dat Button en co. bedwelmd zijn met een slaapmiddel. "De politie heeft opgemerkt dat dit een groeiend probleem is in de regio, met overvallers die zo ver gaan dat ze hun slachtoffers vergassen door middel van de airconditioning voordat ze inbreken. Iedereen is gelukkig ongedeerd gebleven, maar het is niet verrassend dat ze erg geschrokken zijn."

    Het zit hem echt niet mee inderdaad. Was hij ook niet een keer bestolen tijdens de GP weekend van Brazilië?

      Beschoten was dat toen, 2-3 gasten op brommertjes die een gepantserde Mercedes wilden klem rijden... Button zat toen op de achterbank, en 2 engineers van Mclaren vanvoor, gelukkig was de auto kogelvrij want ik denk dat er toen zelfs geschoten is geweest op de wagen, sindsdien heeft elke F1 piloot politiebegeleiding in Sao Paulo ... niet vreemd aangezien de Favela's slechts enkele kilomters van Interlagos zijn. daar stelen ze niet je geld maar je nieren of je lever...
