Red Bull Racing wijst Renault op fabrieksstatus

Het team van Red Bull Racing heeft contractueel vast laten leggen dat ze het officiële fabrieksteam van Renault zijn. Aangezien die overeenkomst doorloopt tot eind 2016 geldt die bepaling ook voor volgend seizoen, zelfs als Renault de overname van Lotus afrondt en die renstal omdoopt tot een eigen fabrieksteam. Dat stelt Red Bull Racing-teambaas Christian Horner op Crash.net.

"Renault heeft geen keuze, ze moeten zelf het tij keren. We willen in de tweede seizoenshelft indicaties zien dat ze de goede kant op gaan met de ontwikkeling en die lijn door kunnen trekken naar 2016. Onze situatie met Renault is duidelijk ingekaderd voor volgend seizoen, ongeacht wat ze zelf beslissen om te doen", aldus Horner.

"Renault is zich daar bewust van en het meest fundamentele wat Renault en wij nu moeten doen is de achterstand op de aandrijflijnen van Mercedes en Ferrari verkleinen. Welke keuzes zij ook maken, ze hebben sowieso een competitieve motor nodig. Wij hebben een verbintenis waarin staat dat wij verzekerd zijn van een fabrieksstatus. Wat zij verder beslissen is irrelevant voor ons."

    Ik zie daar geen probleem in. Dat betekent m.i. dat ze gewoon recht hebben op dezelfde spec motor en dezelfde spec componenten als het fabrieksteam op hetzelfde moment.

    Deze relatie werkt contraproductief. Als je elkaar de tent uit vecht kan je beter uit elkaar gaan, anders is 2016 een verloren jaar voor beide.

    In een eerder bericht dachten de renault bonzen daar toch echt anders over en noemden ze redbull juist 'geen fabrieksteam'

    En zoals zo vaak in de Formule1 stellen contracten niet zo veel voor als men het niet meer met elkaar eens is of wat anders wil. Het is net als een huwelijk, scheiden dus.

      Wat een onzin. Er is juist heel vaak bewezen dat een contract in de F1 de zelfde waarde heeft als alle andere contracten. Wordt het contract door 1 partij niet nagaleefd dan heeft de ander recht op schadevergoeding. Is in het bedrijfsleven niet anders en zijn in de F1 tal van voorbeelden, van Jos tot VdG welke bewijzen dat een contract niet zomaar verbroken kan worden.
