Rotterdamse leerlingen op schoolreis naar de F1

Tien leerlingen van de Hugo de Groot-school uit Rotterdam hebben de verrassing van hun leven gekregen. Ze mogen in september naar de Grand Prix van Singapore om mee te doen aan de finale van de Formule 1-scholenwedstrijd waarbij kinderen wereldwijd een racewagen in hout mogen nabouwen, bericht Metro.

Een team van tien kinderen van mavo, havo en vwo drong door tot de laatste ronde van de wedstrijd met een winnend ontwerp dat ze afgelopen jaar in Duitsland gepresenteerd hebben. Maar er was in eerst instantie geen geld voor een schoolreisje naar Singapore. "Dat is er nu wel!", zegt schooldirecteur Eric van 't Zelfde.

Vandaag werd bekend dat de superschool van Van 't Zelfde een ton per jaar van software producent AFAS krijgt. En dat voor een periode drie jaar. De school beslist zelf waaraan ze het geld uitgeeft. "Een stukje gaat naar de reis naar Singapore. Dat is zeker!", zegt Van 't Zelfde.
