Honda heeft vertrouwen in betrouwbaarheid Spa-upgrade

Honda gelooft dat het de eventuele problemen met de nieuwe motor-upgrade op Spa snel kan verhelpen. De leverancier van McLaren heeft het hele jaar al last van een kwakkelende betrouwbaarheid, maar met de grootste update van het jaar op komst is Yasuhisa Arai zelfverzekerd over de kwaliteit.

"We hebben al enkele dingen gerepareerd," legt de Japanner uit. "Kijk bijvoorbeeld naar Hongarije, waar wij in erg warm weer het hele weekend geen problemen hadden. Wij hebben vertrouwen in onze betrouwbaarheid, en daarom schroeven wij de kracht iets omhoog met de upgrade. Iets dat ons moet helpen op Spa en Monza, circuits die een hoge snelheid eisen."

Tijdens de laatste race in Hongarije scoorde McLaren voor het eerst punten met beide auto's. Een welkome boost voor het team, aldus Arai: "Het geeft ons meer zelfvertrouwen. Niet alleen voor de mensen die met de motoren bezig zijn, ook voor degene die aan het chassis werken. En zijn zoveel mensen die voor een Formule 1-team werken die aan de auto werken, maar ik wil vooral onze twee coureurs bedanken voor deze prestatie."

    Ze zullen wel de weg terug vinden, Laat ze maar knutselen aan die auto. McLaren & Honda hebben de kracht om aan de top te staan. De Japanners zijn niet gek en Motoren bouwen kunnen ze als de beste.

    Beetje raar om vooral de coureurs te bedanken, want de betrouwbaarheid ligt toch meer in de handen van de monteurs en engineers.

    Honda had in het Jordan tijdperk ook grote betrouwbaarheiodsproblemen, dus ik ben daar nog niet zo van oovertuigd dat de problemen nu ook zo opgelost zullen zijn.....

      Volgens Andy Cowell van Mercedes leveren de 2015 motoren +/- 700 pk en de ERS +/- 160.
      Ook Rob White van Renault komt op +/- 850 pk.
      Honda zou daar +/- 100 pk onder zitten, maar dit soort info komt nooit in detail naar buiten.
