Toro Rosso neemt nieuwe faciliteiten in gebruik

Scuderia Toro Rosso heeft de zomerpauze benut om het hoofdkwartier in Faenza anders in te delen. Het nieuwe gebouw voor de afdelingen administratie, logistiek en engineering is in gebruik genomen. Met de nieuwe faciliteiten hoopt de Italiaanse renstal de fundering onder het team te verstevigen.

Omnicorse ving van Toro Rosso-teambaas Franz Tost op: "Dit nieuwe gebouw komt de werkomgeving ten goede. We huisvesten alle engineers nu onder één dak, wat moet resulteren in betere samenwerking, betere communicatie en uiteindelijk een betere performance."

De Italiaanse renstal groeide uit zijn jasje in de oude thuisbasis van Minardi en had meer ruimte nodig om het personeel en materiaal onder te brengen. Het nieuwe gebouw telt drie verdiepingen en levert 7.500 vierkante meter aan nieuwe werkvloer op. Scuderia Toro Rosso telt inmiddels meer dan 250 teamleden.

De bouw lag een jaar geleden even stil na een ongeluk met twee bouwvakkers. Ze waren op de tweede verdieping aan het werk toen een deel van de constructie instortte. Geen van de twee raakte ernstig gewond bij dit voorval.

    Dat klinkt goed! Kan alleen nog maar beter gaan zou je zeggen...nu nog een fatsoenlijke motor achterin!

    We dreigen het bijna te vergeten, het team dat 20 jaar lang bijna elk jaar op omvallen stond en in zijn hele bestaan een handje vol punten haalde is tegenwoordig behoorlijk succesvol.

    Wat na al die tijd nog wel overeenkomt is dat het team nog altijd (toekomstige) racewinnaars en wereldkampioenen levert.
