Lopez haalt Saoedische zakenrelatie binnen bij Renault

Het team van Renault heeft een nieuwe partner. Het betreft de Saoedische zakenman Tarek E. Obaid, mede-oprichter van en directeur bij oliemaatschappij PetroSaudi International. Hij onderhoudt goede banden met Gerard Lopez van Genii Capital, sinds afgelopen winter grootaandeelhouder van het Formule 1-team van Renault.

Lopez: Het is een voorrecht om aan te kondigen dat mijn langdurige zakenrelatie en goede vriend Tarek Obaid zich als partner bij de renstal van Renault voegt. Hij brengt een uniek globaal perspectief in ons bedrijf. De ervaring van Tarek in het identificeren en uitvoeren van succesvolle strategische investeringsmogelijkheden zal cruciaal zijn voor de uitbreiding van de merknaam van Renault F1, zeker in het Midden-Oosten.

Obaid: Ik ben opgewonden om me aan te sluiten bij een getalenteerde groep met veel grootse ideeën en projecten. Gerard staat bekend als financiële leider en een creatieve innovator, ik ben blij om met hem in zee te gaan. Ik ben van plan om jarenlang bij Renault F1 betrokken te zijn en we zullen al onze middelen aanspreken om dit symbool van de Franse industrie terug te brengen naar de voorste gelederen.
