Vettel hoopt op chaos bij de start of een regenbui

Sebastian Vettel hoopt op een wonder. De Duitser beleefde een tegenvallende kwalificatie, nadat hij een foutje maakte in de laatste chicane. Vettel moet de Grand Prix van België beginnen vanaf de negende plaats en de Ferrari-coureur hoopt dan ook op chaos of wat regen.

"Er bestaat een kans dat de race chaotisch van start gaat", vertelt Vettel tegenover het Braziliaanse Globo. "Ik hoop dat het voor ons meevalt en dat we er omheen kunnen rijden net als in Hongarije. We hebben ook veel banden bij voor nat weer, dus die kunnen we nog genoeg gebruiken."

Het team van Ferrari kende sowieso een tegenvallende kwalificatie op het circuit in de Ardennen. Kimi Raikkonen moest zijn kwalificatie noodgedwongen eerder beëindigen nadat een probleem met de versnellingsbak zijn Ferrari tot stilstand bracht. De Fin kwalificeerde zich als veertiende, maar zal als zeventiende moeten starten na een versnellingsbakwissel.
