Rosberg loopt achter de feiten aan na slechte start

Nico Rosberg moest op Spa Francorchamps genoegen nemen met de tweede positie. De Duitser kende een dramatische start, waarna hij de hele race achter de feiten aanliep. Dat hij uiteindelijk nog tweede werd, dankt Rosberg aan zijn uitstekende auto.

"Ik verknalde de start volledig en dat was nogal vervelend", verklaart Rosberg op het podium. "Ik heb de hele race alles gegeven en zowel Lewis als ik zaten op de limiet. De auto was geweldig vandaag, echt perfect te besturen."

"Lewis verdiende het vandaag om te winnen, zo simpel is dat", vervolgt Rosberg realistisch. "Ik heb werkelijk alles gegeven vandaag maar het was simpelweg niet genoeg." Na afloop van de Grand Prix zal Rosberg snel vertrekken naar huis. Zijn vrouw staat op het punt om te bevallen van hun eerste kind.

      Ik denk dat Rosberg gewoon net onder het niveau van Hamilton en Vettel zit en daardoor gaat hij nooit kampioen worden zolang die twee rijden.
      Moet wel zeggen dat ik hem wel goed genoeg vind dat ik hem een wereldtitel gun want hij rijdt echt niet slecht. Ik bedoel als je kijkt naar het Jaar dat bijvoorbeeld Button of Raikkonen kampioen werd die waren echt niet beter dan hij nu is en die hebben allebei al een titel op zak.
