Ecclestone voorkwam protest van boeren in Spa

De Grand Prix van België is soepel verlopen, maar dat had ook anders kunnen zijn. Boeren hadden aangekondigd om de toegangswegen naar het circuit van Spa-Francorchamps te blokkeren uit protest tegen de melkprijs. Mede dankzij een diplomatieke Bernie Ecclestone werd dat voorkomen.

De commerciële baas van de Formule 1 verleende zijn medewerking aan een mediacampagne voor de boeren. Zo poseerde Ecclestone naast een plastic koe en nam hij een slokje uit een pak melk. Andre Maes, promotor van de Belgische Grand Prix, in La Derniere Heure: "We hebben wat problemen op moeten lossen."

"De grootste dreiging kwam van de boeren, die de toegangswegen naar het circuit wilden blokkeren. Gelukkig zijn we erin geslaagd om ze op andere gedachten te brengen via een redelijke en effectieve mediacampagne, bestaande uit een ontmoeting met Bernie Ecclestone die melk dronk en een kwartier met ze heeft gepraat."

    DIe Bernie gaat ook op zijn knietjes an het hem uitkomt.. In de aanloop van de Russische GP hield hij zich bijzonder afwijzig en wilde hij zich niet in politieke zaken mengen ook niet als de mensenrechten in geding zouden komen. Dat was de zaak van Rusland zelf.

    Nu boeren zijn fans de toegang wilden blokkeren in België gaat hij op de knietjes en mengt hij zich dus wel in de politie kwestie en kiest hij de kant van de boeren omdat het hem beter uitkomt..

    Iedereen weet, dat je melk a) niet lang kan bewaren en b) al helemaal niet buiten de koelkast.
    Het drinken van melk, wat door een boer is meegenomen had fataal kunnen zijn.

    Oh, er waren inderdaad tijdens het race weekend al foto's van Ecllestone naast een plastic koe. Dacht dat dat oude foto's waren, want ik had verder niets gehoord/gelezen van een protest.
