Ecclestone dekte salariskosten Lotus in augustus

Bernie Ecclestone is vorige maand het team van Lotus te hulp geschoten. De commerciële baas van de Formule 1 heeft de salarissen van de 400 man personeel van de Britse renstal betaald in augustus. Dat deelde Ecclestone mede aan The Times.

De dreiging dat Lotus dit weekend in Italië niet in actie kan komen bestaat echter nog steeds. Ecclestone: "Ik heb de salariskosten van het team gedekt zodat het team kon blijven draaien en om te zorgen dat Lotus in elk geval in Spa mee kon doen, en hopelijk ook in Italië. Maar ze moeten nu wel snel tot overeenstemming komen met Renault, anders loopt het misschien fout af."

Journalist Joe Saward spreekt op zijn blog het vermoeden uit dat op deze manier de druk verhoogd wordt op de eigenaren van Lotus. Volgens hem heeft Renault ook nog geen officieel bod uitgebracht, in tegenstelling tot eerdere berichtgeving. Saward schrijft wel dat hij documenten ontvangen heeft waarop staat dat voor 9 september een hoorzitting over een eventueel faillissement van Lotus staat gepland en dat het team mogelijk onder curatele komt te staan.

Failliet niet, dat is inderdaad een te groot risico. Onder curatele echter weer wel, dan kan je zelf met een plan komen maar ook een aantal schulden gemakkelijker wegwerken. Dan zijn de toeleveranciers waarschijnlijk gemakkelijker in een saneringsplan te accepteren zodat ze 1) nog wat gaan krijge... [Lees verder]

    Duur jaartje voor Bernie. Eerst moest hij miljoenen ophoesten omdat Monisha er een puinhoop van had gemaakt en nu dit weer.

      waarschijnlijk heeft hij zelf ook financiele belangen bij het team. Als het wordt overgenomen zal hij deze kosten vast wel dik terugverdienen

      Bernie schiet gewoon voor, deze financiering trekt hij wel af van de televisierechten die Lotus zou ontvangen einde dit jaar. Zelfde verhaal voor Monischa. Bernie heeft ook aan tafel gezeten met Alain Prost om een deal te sluiten in het voordeel van Renault-Sport waar ze van een bevoorrechte situatie zouden genieten net zoals Ferrari & McLaren maar dan mag Lotus niet failliet verklaard worden uiteraard

    Zou het wellicht goedkoper zijn voor Renault om de boel eerst failliet te laten verklaren en dan pas op te kopen "voor een prikkie"? Dit seizoen maakt voor Renault toch niet veel uit t.o.v. Lotus

      Risico is dat dan andere kapers op de kust er vandoor kunnen gaan met de boedel. Ook kunnen ze dan geen aanspraak meer maken op inkomsten uit punten in dit jaar gemaakt en van vorig jaar die einde dit seizoen worden uitgekeerd. Weet uiteraard niet of dat opweegt tegen de kosten die overname incl schuldeisers met zich meebrengt. Ik had het zelfde idee als wat jij hier zegt. Denk dat een overname op zich gezonder is, minder gedoe met leveranciers geeft ipv de boel te laten klappen en diezelfde leveranciers het jaar erop toch nodig hebben.

Dan zijn de toeleveranciers waarschijnlijk gemakkelijker in een saneringsplan te accepteren zodat ze 1) nog wat gaan krijgen en 2) in de toekomst aan een fabrieksteam te leveren wat iets meer financieel stabiel is.

    Als ik Bernie was zou ik nog een paar jaar wachten met veranderingen op motorisch gebied! De motoren zijn zo belachelijk duur en zorgen ervoor dat er over 2 jaar nog maar 6 of 7 teams over zijn en dan is het makkelijker unaniem dingen te beslissen......

    Het gaat goed in de F1 alles is veels te duur motoren kaartjes voor de race .
    Kijk naar het motorracen daar is het altijd volle bak en kaartjes koop je voor onder de 100€
    En je krijgt gegarandeerd spektakel .
