Podiumreacties Monza van Hamilton, Vettel en Massa

Lewis Hamilton heeft de Grand Prix van Italië gewonnen. De Brit reed soeverein vooraan en had weinig te vrezen van de concurrentie. Sebastian Vettel trakteerde de Ferrari-fans op een podium, terwijl Felipe Massa ook weer eens een trofee mocht ophalen.

Op het podium was George Lucas, regisseur van onder andere de Star Wars-films, de man die de interviews verzorgde. Diepgaande vragen wist Lucas niet te stellen, maar het drietal op het podium was tevreden met hun posities.

"Vandaag was geweldig, kijk alleen al naar de fans hier, werkelijk ongelooflijk", vertelde Hamilton na het podium. "Ik had deze overwinning niet zonder mijn team kunnen behalen. Ze doen het echt geweldig, we hebben een fantastische auto en de mensen hebben enorm sterk werk geleverd."

Vettel liet de tifosi juichen door als tweede te eindigen en de Duitser liet de Italianen smullen van zijn Italiaanse teksten. Ook Felipe Massa stond te glunderen op het mooie podium van Monza. De Braziliaan had op de baan een heftig gevecht met teamgenoot Valtteri Bottas en dat ging Massa niet in de koude kleren zitten.

"Ik zei het al tegen mijn team na de race, maar ik word hier te oud voor", grapt Massa op het podium. "Ik was flink in gevecht met mijn teamgenoot in de slotfase van de race, maar alles is goedgekomen. Fantastisch."
