Blije Robert Kubica betreurt slechte start

Robert Kubica zegt dat zijn slechte start hem de tweede plaats heeft gekost in de Grand Prix van Monaco. Desondanks was de Pool zeer tevreden over het weekend en blij met zijn tweede podiumfinish dit jaar.

Kubica startte als tweede, maar verloor die positie bij de start aan Sebastian Vettel. Kubica had het gevoel sneller te zijn dan Vettel, maar kon de Red Bull Racing coureur niet aanvallen.

Ik wist dat de start vanaf de vuile kant voor mij lastig zou zijn. Normaal gesproken zou ik mijn positie verbeter, maar ik zag dat Webber niet heel goed weg kwam, dus ik zag een kans om hem te verschalken. Ik had echter teveel wielspin en toen was het te laat om de deur dicht te gooien voor Vettel. Ik moest zelfs nog verdedigen ten opzichte van Felipe Massa, aldus Kubica.

Ik kon het tempo van Vettel volgen, ik denk zelfs dat ik iets sneller was. Maar met nog dertig ronden te gaan had ik een flatspot op mijn band en kreeg ik last van grote vibraties. Ik was zelfs even bang dat ik naar binnen moest voor een nieuwe band. Maar we hebben het podium gehaald. Helemaal mooi dat er drie coureurs op het podium stonden die rijden in een door Renault aangedreven chassis, vervolgt Renault coureur.
