Pirelli wil misverstanden over banden voorkomen

Bandenleverancier Pirelli werkt samen met de internationale autosportbond FIA aan een serie richtlijnen en protocollen voor Singapore om misverstanden over het gebruik van de banden zoals in Italië voor de toekomst te voorkomen. Op Monza kwam Mercedes met de schrik vrij nadat de bandenspanning bij beide coureurs lager was dan voorgeschreven.

De wedstrijdleiding zag het door de vingers omdat Mercedes wel het juiste protocol gevolgd had en dus geen schuld had aan de te lage bandenspanning. Daardoor behield Lewis Hamilton zijn zege. Mercedes verkondigde na afloop dat striktere regels welkom zijn om verwarring tegen te gaan. Pirelli en de FIA lijken daar nu gehoor aan te geven. Gewerkt wordt aan een duidelijk manifest.

Pirelli-motorsportbaas Paul Hembery: "Deze dagen benutten we om samen met de FIA een heldere procedure op te stellen waardoor het voor de teams makkelijker is om de richtlijnen voor het bandenverbruik op te volgen. Dit is om misverstanden zoals met Mercedes in Italië te voorkomen door renstallen precieze uitleg te geven over wat wel en wat niet mag."

    Gewoon racen met die hap en geen gezeur over een paar PSI.
    Wil je als coureur de gok nemen; of als team het leven van jou piloot in de waagschaal stellen.
    Uiteindelijk moet een ieder zijn verantwoordelijkheid nemen.
    Straks mogen de coureurs ook geen roze boxer meer aan.

      helemaal gelijk heb je.
      bij personenauto kan bandenspanning met warme band al 0.2bar(2.9psi) hoger zijn.
      en bij de f1 spreken ze over 0.3psi. maar de meter heeft ook een afwijking, voor garage is dan 0.2bar verschil tussen de ene bandenpom en de andere al heel goed mogelijk.

      mijn mening is ook rij de banden zoals jij het wilt. gaan ze kapot kan pirelli gewoon zeggen dat je buiten de veilige marge zat en dus je eigen schuld zit.

      @Spielberg: van mij mogen ze, maar dan moet een team als Ferrari of een coureur als Vettel ook niet meer gaan klagen als er een band kapot gaat op hoge snelheid...

    typisch voorbeeld van de Fia met ondoordachte regels. Ze nemen een coureur uit de GP2 zijn 2de plek af en bij de F1 zien ze het door de vingers. Ik vind het allemaal maar onzin!

      Pirelli had ook gemeten toen de auto's de garage verlieten... Toen was het goed. Ze hebben heus op de startgrid geen lucht laten ontsnappen.
      Er moeten dus duidelijkere richtlijnen komen EN een strafmaat bepaald worden als een team/coureur zich er niet aan houdt. Verder ook een procedure over hoe het gecommuniceerd wordt. 10 rondjes voor het einde beginnen over een meetfout bij de start is ook enigszins mosterd na de maaltijd. Ze hebben een hele opwarmronde de tijd (en de afgelopen keren zelfs 2) om dit soort fouten te analyseren en communiceren, zodat een coureur er geen voordeel uit kan halen maar verplicht een extra bandenstop moet maken in de eerste 5 ronden naar banden van hetzelfde type als waarop hij reed...
