Sauber zet zinnen op nieuwste Ferrari-upgrade

Het team van Sauber is gretig om voor het einde van het seizoen de hand te leggen op de nieuwste versie van de Ferrari-motor. De Zwitserse renstal rijdt sinds België met de update die de Scuderia in Canada introduceerde en het fabrieksteam van Ferrari had in Italië een nieuwe upgrade voor de motor.

Sauber heeft daar zijn zinnen op gezet, alleen weet het nog niet wanneer ze de verbeterde krachtbron tot hun beschikking krijgen. Teambaas Monisha Kaltenborn verkondigde aan Motorsport.com: "We zijn in discussie met Ferrari over wanneer wij de volgende stap voor de motor kunnen verwachten. Voor het einde van het seizoen zullen we een nieuwe boost ontvangen."

Het team heeft in Singapore sowieso een aerodynamische update voor de C34. "Het is te vroeg om te speculeren over wat het ons oplevert. We weten wat wij mee brengen, maar we weten niet wat de andere teams mee brengen. Het is even afwachten om te zien waar we staan", aldus Kaltenborn.
