Mateschitz in de markt om Salzburgring te kopen

Red Bull-baas Dietrich Mateschitz heeft zijn oog laten vallen op een tweede circuit in Oostenrijk. Na de Red Bull Ring nabij Spielberg is hij nu in de markt om de Salzburgring aan te schaffen. Dat doet hij op persoonlijke titel, Red Bull is niet bij de overname betrokken.

Kranten Osterreich en de Salzburger Nachrichten melden dat de koop van de Salzburgring door Mateschitz al zo goed als rond is. Een woordvoerder van het circuit voedt die verhalen. "Ik kan bevestigen dat de heer Mateschitz de Salzburgring gaat bemachtigen."

Zover is het nog niet, bezweert Mateschitz zelf. "Er is nog niets getekend, ik ben nog niet de nieuwe eigenaar van de Salzburgring. Het kopen van een circuit is niet iets dat ik kan verwachten van mijn zakenpartners. Al zie ik wel veel mogelijkheden voor synergiën met de Red Bull Ring."

En dan een aantal oude red bull auto's neerzetten, klanten grof geld laten betalen voor een F1-experience dag. Zet er nog een aantal supercars neer of oude LMP1/LMP2 auto's en hoppa zie het geld binnenstromen!
