Zomerpauze terug in Formule 1-kalender 2016

Het is passen en meten met de Formule 1-kalender voor 2016. Bernie Ecclestone heeft een schema met 21 Grands Prix in een tijdsbestek van begin april tot eind november in gedachten. De eerste versie van de kalender voor volgend seizoen wekte echter de nodige wrevel.

Teams waren niet blij dat de zomerpauze in augustus zou verdwijnen en de organisatie in Singapore was ongelukkig met de back-to-back plaatsing met Maleisië. Ecclestone heeft beide pijnpunten aangepakt in een nieuwe voorlopige kalender. De zomervakantie is in ere hersteld door België een week later te houden en Japan is tussen Singapore en Maleisië gezet in een back-to-back-to-back serie van drie races.

Dat laatste is volgens McLaren-coureur Jenson Button iets te veel van het goede. "Voor de coureurs is het prima te doen, maar voor het teampersoneel is het een ander verhaal. De teamleden spenderen al zoveel tijd in het buitenland en het is zwaar. Niet alleen voor hen, maar ook voor hun families. Drie back-to-back races is in mijn ogen te veel voor de Formule 1."

Snap niet dat ze VS en Canada niet back to back doen en dan Mexico en Brazilië ook back to back.
En niet zeuren dat je 3 races back to back hebt. Het personeel heeft een van de mooiste banen dus moet je niet zo zeuren lijkt me.

  Ik denk vooral i.v.m marketing en bezoekers. Als Duitsland en België back to back zou zijn zouden veel Nederlanders 1 van de 2 uitkiezen i.p.v. naar beide gaan. Alleen voor de kosten al. Als er paar weken/maanden tussen zitten zullen meer Nederlanders naar beide gaan verwacht ik.

  dan moeten ze maar een systeem bedenken dat als je bijvoorbeeld voor belgie en duitsland 400,- euro los per race betaalt voor een heel weekend dat je beide races kunt bezoeken voor 600,- laat ik zeggen. want ook als er een paar maanden tussen 2 races zit gaan toeschouwers niet zo snel naar beide races.

Ik zie wel mogelijkheden om volgend jaar weer naar een race te gaan ;)

Belgie, Duitsland, Spanje en Oostenrijk zijn wel leuke opties..
Evntueel is Hongarije ook een optie :)

Button heeft wel een goed punt. Daarbij komt dat het voor de monteurs toch als tamelijk idioot zal aanvoelen dat ze twee weken na Singapore, weer zowat terug zijn op hetzelfde punt als ze in Maleisië aankomen. Tamelijk idioot! Trek die twee races dan echt uit elkaar en hou de ene in het voorjaar en de andere in het najaar.

Wat een verschrikkelijke term is back-to-back races ook eigenlijk. Mij kennende zal ik wel weer de enigste zijn die zich daar vreselijk aan ergert... Net als teams of coureurs die 'acteren' in de Formule 1, bah

  Lol, NBTT, het is een steeds terugkerende fout die ik maak betreft dat woord. Hoewel het voor mij in ieder geval het meest logisch klinkt, is het inderdaad geen correct Nederlands. En dan noem ik mijzelf nog wel een taalpurist....
