Ricciardo blij om weer bovenin de tijdenlijst te staan

Daniel Ricciardo heeft een uitstekende kwalificatie achter de rug in Singapore. De Australiër start vanaf de tweede positie naast Sebastian Vettel, zijn oude teamgenoot. Red Bull-Racing kende sowieso een sterke kwalificatie op het Marina Bay Circuit. Daniil Kvyat eindigde als vierde.

"Het is heel mooi om terug te zijn op de voorste rij, het heeft even geduurd", glundert Ricciardo na afloop van de kwalificatie. "Het is toevallig dat Sebastian (Vettel, red.) en ik vooraan staan. De kwalificatie was erg spannend en het was verrassend voor iedereen om geen Mercedes vooraan te zien."

"We dachten dat ze een beetje met ons speelden, maar het blijkt dat ze hier simpelweg niet zo goed uit de verf komen", vervolgt Ricciardo. "Het is prettig dat we daarom nu een slag kunnen slaan. Ik ben heel erg blij, ook voor het team. We hebben flinke progressie geboekt, vooral sinds Silverstone en Budapest. Ik hoop dat ik morgen ook hier kan zitten. De auto is sterk op dit circuit en het kan een mooie race worden morgen."

    Een overwinning voor Ricciardo morgen zou wel heel mooi zijn. Maarja, dat is het al gauw zolang het maar geen Mercedes is :P

      De motor is nog steeds datzelfde slappe en onbetrouwbare oude ding wat er al maanden op zit. Er is geen update geweest. Er is zelfs preventief van motor gewisseld want anders bleven ze sowieso al niet heel. Dit resultaat is dankzij de auto en goed stuurmanswerk. Laat die motor er buiten joh. Dit is ondanks! de Renault. En eerst maar zien of ze heel blijven morgen.

    Als het totaalpakket van Mercedes zo goed is (wat vaak wordt gezegd) dan hadden ze hier ook 1+2 moeten staan. Het kunnen nog wel eens een paar opvallende wedstrijden gaan worden.

      Mercedes heeft alle races op de kalender gewonnen behalve Mexico (nog niet gereden) Vorig seizoen de dubbel in de kwalificatie op Singapore. Hamilton won de race. Ik ben ervan overtuigd dat dit gat niks met het chassis van Mercedes te maken heeft.

      RF, je hebt het helemaal ondekt. Mercedes is helemaal niet goed! Ze wonnen gewoon zomaar al die races. Pfoe, dat is nu wel voorbij zeg.
