Australische Grand Prix verplaatst naar 20 maart

De Grand Prix van Australië voor 2016 is definitief verplaatst van 3 april naar het weekend van 18 tot en met 20 maart. Dat heeft de organisatie van het evenement op het circuit van Albert Park in Melbourne bekend gemaakt. De nieuwe datum maakt onderdeel uit van de herziene Formule 1-kalender voor 2016, die de World Motor Sport Council van de internationale autosportbond FIA later vandaag in zijn geheel zal publiceren.

Andrew Westacott, directeur van de Australische Grand Prix, had in elk geval een boodschap over de nieuwe datum van zijn evenement.

    Ik zag wel dat pirelli ook over hun toekomst twijfelt als Red Bull vertrekt. Dat soort berichten zijn wel erg positief, want het geeft aan dat de formule 1 echt Red Bull moet behouden, anders kan er snel een domino effect ontstaan

      Dan weet ik wel wie ze in die derde auto willen hebben. Iemand die net zijn rijbewijs heeft! Maar ik hoop dat Red Bull blijft, ik denk het ook. Als je enige onderhandelingspositie het dreigen met opstappen is, dan moet je dat ook geloofwaardig maken. Anders verliest het natuurlijk zijn kracht. Het is dus wel te verwachten dat ze met dat dreigement tot het uiterste gaan bij Red Bull. Ik verwacht nog steeds een deal binnen nu en anderhalve week.

    Zullen Red Bull en met name Toro Rosso leuk vinden. Toch 2 weken minder voorbereidingstijd. Ze mogen wel eens opschieten met motoren ritselen.

    Elk jaar gaat het seizoen van start in maart dus op zich niets abnormaals... maar Bernie kan zich nu wel zorgen gaan maken voor de invulling van de grid 2016. Mateschitz roert geen vingertje en qua onderhandelingen tussen Ferrari & RBR horen we niets meer...
    Hoop alleen dat er een stoeltje voor Max is

    Denk dat de topteams liever met 3 auto's rijden dan redbull van hun motoren te voorzien, één concurent minder en zij een kans meer.
