Geen andere teams tonen interesse in Honda V6

Het heeft er alle schijn van dat Honda ook volgend jaar alleen McLaren van motoren voorziet. De Japanse autofabrikant heeft dit seizoen bepaald geen goed visitekaartje afgegeven. De aandrijflijn komt vermogen tekort en vertoont bovendien veel kinderziektes. Maar gezien de situatie bij Red Bull zou een belletje richting Honda misschien niet zo'n gekke gedachte zijn.

De telefoon van Honda heeft echter nog niet gerinkeld. Sky Sports F1 citeert motorsportbaas Yasuhisa Arai: "Ik krijg de laatste tijd veel dezelfde vragen. We zijn niet benaderd door andere teams en ik denk dat het voor Honda en de overige motorleveranciers nu erg laat in het seizoen is om zich nog voor te bereiden om motoren te leveren aan nieuwe partners. Honda heeft in McLaren een sterke partner als fabrieksteam en we hebben verder geen plannen."

Een woordvoerster van Honda verklaarde eind vorige week al aan Motorsport.com: "Zoals Yasuhisa Arai reeds gezegd heeft, koestert Honda geen plannen om volgend jaar een tweede team van motoren te voorzien. Daar is niets aan veranderd. Honda heeft sinds de rentree in de Formule 1 wel verkondigd om open te staan voor de levering van motoren aan meerdere teams in de toekomst."

"Echter, het is al vrij laat in het seizoen 2015, waardoor het zeer onwaarschijnlijk is dat Honda voor 2016 nog in zee gaat met een extra team. De combinatie van een nieuw chassis en een nieuwe aandrijflijn zou voor beide partijen meer ontwikkeling vergen."

Ik zou het geweldig als RBR dadelijk wel moet aankloppen bij Honda, Mercedes en Ferrari moeten gewoon geen motoren leveren aan RBR. Ze hebben dan maar twee keuzes, vertrekken of bij Honda aankloppen. Want bij Renault aankloppen hoeven ze niet meer na dat gedrag van hun.

  ...dus tenzij Honda na de winter opeens een concurrerende powerunit heeft (????) is het mogelijk exit RBr/TR.
  Herr Dieter heeft toch duidelijk gesteld dat opnieuw zomaar een blokje geen alternatief is.

Ik had wel gebeld voor die motor, misschien niet goed genoeg voor de F1 op dit moment maar meer dan genoeg voor mijn straat auto :) maar ze wilde niet eens de 2015 versie leveren.

Klinkt bijna als de trots waarmee de FIA meldt geen nieuwe teams toe te laten. Ofwel hoe je gezichtsverlies verpakt als een overwinning.

Het zou mischien toch nog niet zo verkeerd zijn om Yasuhisa Arai een telefoontje te doen, de japanse mentaliteit kennende zullen zij er geen genoegen mee nemen om in het deelnemersveld achteraan te blijven rijden. Dus naar alle waarschijnlijkheid zullen een blik met miljoenen open trekken om hun motor te verbeteren! En slechter dan momenteel kan het zo wie zo niet!

Honda heeft tenminste de ballen om het -in deze tijd- op te nemen tegen Ferrari en Mercedes.
Met: een eigen concept - eigen mensen en dat in een tijd dat testen zo goed als onmogelijk is. Ze verdienen alle respect.
