Maldonado gaat voor punten in Austin

Pastor Maldonado denkt een goede kans te maken op een puntenfinish, aankomend weekend tijdens de Grand Prix van Amerika in Austin. De Venezolaan heeft de laatste twee races ook een top 10 finish meegemaakt. Hij pakte een achtste plaats in Suzuka en in Rusland een zevende plaats.

Mede door deze resultaten, en de resultaten die Lotus vorig jaar al in Austin wist te behalen, hoopt Maldonado ook deze race weer voor punten te kunnen gaan. "Vorig jaar ging het voor ons erg goed in Austin, we pakte een negende plaats. Zeker gezien de resultaten vorig seizoen, was Amerika één van de betere races voor Lotus", vertelt Pastor Maldonado.

"Er zijn genoeg redenen waardoor we ook dit jaar weer punten kunnen pakken. Het circuit ligt ons wel, zolang de banden maar doen wat we willen. Op dit moment is onze auto in de top van zijn kunnen, en we proberen ook het beste er uit te halen. Tijdens de trainingen moeten we proberen zoveel mogelijk rondes rijden en zo een goede kwalificatie neerzetten, om uiteindelijk voor een puntenfinish te gaan", aldus de Venezolaan.

    Toegegeven, de laatste wedstrijden is er niet veel aan te merken op Pastor. Een kusje voor Button in Singapore was ongeveer de laatste schade. Af en toe een raar bochtje in Rusland, maar al met al rijdt hij de laatste tijd niet slecht...

    Hoog tijd dus om zijn reputatie weer eens bevestigd te zien ;-)

      mee eens, ik denk ook dat Lotus gezien hun huidige situatie best wel weer eens een bak schade kunnen gebruiken, Pastor betaald tenslotte 58miljoen voor zn zitje dan moet dat team niet denken dat ze er zonder schade vanaf komen

    Ik denk dat Pastor in Austin eens heel verrassend uit de hoek gaat komen.
    Niet 1, niet 2 maar wel 3 auto's zullen aan gort gereden worden door onze Venezolaanse brokken kunstenaar.
    Bij de start tikt hij er een af (Niet zijn schuld) om dan na tien ronden twee anderen mee te nemen in een waanzinnige crash als gevolg van een stuurfoutje (lees: Downforce viel opeens weg dus ook niet zijn schuld eigenlijk)

      Waarschijnlijk denk je grappig te zijn, maar het enige wat uit deze opmerkingen blijkt is dat je de races dit jaar niet gezien hebt. Pastor Maldonado heeft dit jaar geen enkele crash veroorzaakt in de races. De enige keer dat hij verwijtbaat is gecrashed dit jaar was in de 1ste vrije training van België. Onder andere ervaren mannen als Button, Hulkenberg en Raikkonen hebben dit jaar veel meer schade veroorzaakt, waarom hoor ik daar niemand over?

    En bij elk bericht over Maldonado (of Grosjean) komen de kinderachtige reacties weer naar boven. Wat een niveau weer.

    Grappig genoeg heeft Maldonado dit jaar amper schade gereden en had hij vorige race gewoon prima in de punten gereden.

    Ja, teammaat Grosjean, Hamilton, Vettel en Verstappen en etc. gaan eens niet voor de punten deze keer.
    Zo verhoogt de kans dat Pastor er nog eens kan grijpen.
    Tenminste als hij de wedstrijd kan eindigen zonder ergens in de décor te belanden.
    Graag nog meer van dit soort artikels, daar hunkeren we naar...

    Vraag me werkelijk af waarom mensen de moeite nemen om commentaar te leveren waarin duidelijk wordt dat ze de races helemaal niet kijken. Maldonado heeft dit jaar geen enkele keer in de races een crash veroorzaakt. Hij laat zelfs door zijn constante punten finishes zien een grote stap te hebben gemaakt in stabiliteit en wanneer er geen technische problemen zijn hij zeker niet onder doet voor Grosjean in de races. Er is dit jaar eigenlijk maar 1 ding op hem aan te merken en dat is zijn kwalificatie resultaten. Maar iedereen blijft maar roepen over crashes, waarom lees ik dat niet bij artikelen over Hulkenberg, Raikkonen, Button, Sainz of Kvyat?

      Inderdaad als je echt naar de races kijkt, merk je dadelijk wat een talent Pastor wel niet is.
      Spijtig dat iedereen maar denkt dat hij foutjes maakt en crashes veroorzaakt terwijl dit echt niet zo is.
      Dus mensen : volgende keer echt eens naar een race kijken en je mening omtrent Maldonado zal helemaal omslaan
      :)
