Horner over Honda geruchten: "Er is nog niets besloten"

Red Bull-teambaas Christian Horner reageert gelaten op de geruchten over een mogelijke deal tussen Honda en Red Bull Racing voor de levering van motoren in 2016. Volgens Horner is er nog niets beslist. Vandaag werd er een nieuw hoofdstuk toegevoegd aan het motoren soap: Honda zou in 2016 de nieuwe motorleverancier worden van Red Bull Racing.

Ferrari en Mercedes lieten eerder al weten geen motoren te willen leveren aan Red Bull en de wegen tussen Renault, Red Bull Racing en Scuderia Toro Rosso lijken zich te gaan scheiden. Honda zou nu de voornaamste kandidaat zijn voor Red Bull Racing, terwijl Scuderia Toro Rosso met Ferrari-motoren zou gaan rijden.

Horner weigert echter op de geruchten in te gaan: "Tot dusver zijn we al aan iedere motorleverancier gelinkt, dus er is een kans van 25 procent dat we met Honda rijden. Er zijn op dit moment heel veel verhalen gaande en iedereen heeft daar zijn eigen mening over. Wanneer we iets bekend kunnen maken, zullen we dat doen. Op dit moment werken we er keihard aan!"

De factor tijd begint een rol te spelen voor zowel Red Bull Racing als Scuderia Toro Rosso. Hoe langer het duurt voordat bekend is met welke motoren de beide teams rijden, hoe meer concessies er gedaan moeten worden in de auto van volgend jaar. "Het wordt krap. Wij hebben een fantastische groep mensen, die snel kunnen anticiperen op de situatie. Ze doen wat ze kunnen op basis van de informatie die ze hebben. Op dit moment gaan ze daar erg goed mee om", aldus Horner.

Het begint momenteel toch aardige amateuristische trekken aan te nemen. En dat verwacht je niet bij een miljarden organisatie als Red Bull.
enkele opties:

1-Of plan a (verkoop aan VAG) plan b (verkoop aan Renault) en plan c (stoppen (Te duur, naast boete afkopen alle contracten aangezien faillissement niet mogelijk is en afschrijving teams)) zijn allen door onvoorziene omstandigheden in rook op gegaan en zit men met hun handen in hun haar. Echter, er is nog een contract met Renault, dus waarom al die heisa al weken. Waarom na de nee van Merc en Ferrari niet meteen gezegd, ok, niet 1e keus, maar in 2016 houden we Renault aan hun contract en willen we bij hun blijven met onze "fabrieksteam" status.

2- Plan abc waren afleidingen van het masterplan welke nu de laatste finishing touch krijgt en binnenkort wordt onthult. (Toch in geheim met vw eigen motor ontwikkeld?)

3- Van begin tot eind geen plan en doel gehad en alles amateuristisch aangegaan met de houding "met ons geld komt het toch altijd wel goed".

  Ik geloof niks van punt 3, ik snap dat het zo kan over komen op je, maar daar geloof ik niks van. Ik denk dat Redbull er vrij zeker van was om met VW een deal te maken, alleen toen kwam VW totaal onverwachts in crisis.. een uiterst ongelukkig moment en daarmee was de perfecte oplossing weg. Vanaf toen was het denk ik ook bij Redbull pas echte crisis, het is ook pas na het uitbreken van het gedoe bij VW, dat je Redbull openlijk over Ferrari en Mercedes hoorde spreken met de intentie met 1 van hen een deal te sluiten.

Het gaat Renault worden dit i.v.m. het niet hoeven te verbouwen van de gehele achterkant auto. Die Renault is echt zo slecht nog niet.

Tja, het is elke dag weer anders. Ik zou het leuk vinden als ze met Honda gaan rijden, maar ik denk dat ze Renault aan hun contract houden en dus bij hun blijven.
