Ecclestone noemt GP Finland niet realistisch

Bernie Ecclestone heeft gezegd dat een Grand Prix in Finland niet realistisch is. In Hongarije tijdens het raceweekend zou de Brit in gesprek zijn geweest met potentiële race promotors van een Grand Prix in Finland. Ecclestone ziet echter weinig kansen voor een mogelijke Grand Prix in het Scandinavische land.

Finland heeft enkele zeer succesvolle Formule 1-coureurs voortgebracht. Onder andere Keke Rosberg, Mika Hakkinen, Kimi Raikkonen, JJ Letho, Heikki Kovalainen en Valtteri Bottas hebben enkele succes geboekt in de koningsklasse van de autosport. Het land met zo’n 6 miljoen inwoners heeft echter nog nooit een Grand Prix georganiseerd.

“Ik weet niet of het wel realistisch is om daar een Grand Prix te organiseren. Ik hoop het wel want we hebben in Finland vele fans. Ik gun het ze van harte”, aldus Ecclestone.

    De het land met het hoogste percentage top coureurs. Alleen al om die reden moeten ze een GP krijgen :-)

      Keke, Lehto, Heikki en Bottas vind je in ieder land.
      Kimi was vroeger een grootheid, Mika is dat altijd geweest.
      Dus al ze het zouden doen dan gewoon omdat Mika daar voldoende aanleiding toe geeft. De rest niet.

      @Rimmer, volgens mij vergeet je even de mindere periode van Mika aan het eind van zijn carriere. Dat was nog erger dan wat Kimi nu laat zien.

      Nou hoeveel f1 coureurs zoals Lehto, heikki en bottas hebben wij voortgebracht? En dan nog eens al die rally coureurs. Want dat is nog een stuk populairder daar. En dan heb je nog de alien drivers in racing sims zoals Gregor Hutto.

      Wil ik nog even toevoegen :-). Hoeveel Wereldkampioenen Rally en formule 1 hebben wij? En wij zijn met 17 miljoen Nederlanders ofzo tegenwoordig?

      Hoho Tifoso!!
      Mika is na die megacrash in 95 nooit helemaal de oude geworden. Hij werd daarna pas echt succesvol maar moest vanaf 2000 eigenlijk al gaan toegeven dat zijn lichaam het niet meer trok. Uiteindelijk waren het de pijnen en het onwillige lichaam die hem deden stoppen en niet! zoals velen denken en geloven de dominantie van Schumacher.
      Mika heeft dat in een zeldzaam openhartig interview ook een keer benadrukt. Het ging gewoon niet meer.
      Nou kunnen we met een beetje goede wil de lever problemen van Kimi ook zo wegschrijven maar dat doet toch geen recht aan Mika haha ;)

      @Rimmer, dat hed ik idd wel meegekregen. Het zijn wel verzachtende omstandigheden, maar puur naar resultaat kijkend doet Kimi het beter dan Mika in die fase. Het zijn iif allebei hele goede coureurs geweest op hun hoogtepunt.

    Jammer...
    Ik had ze graag met sneeuwkettingen of spijkerbanden door dichte bossen zien vlammen.
    Geen grindbakken of uitloopstroken maar huizenhoge sneeuwwallen.
    Nouja, dan maar gewoon rally als nationale volkssport nr 1
