Todt niet bang dat deal Lotus en Renault uit elkaar valt

FIA-president Jean Todt is niet bang dat de aanstaande deal tussen Lotus en Renault uit elkaar valt. Ongeveer een maand geleden werd bekend dat Renault een intentieovereenkomst had gesloten om Lotus over te nemen, maar tot op de dag van vandaag is er nog geen zekerheid over 2016. Todt ziet echter geen problemen.

"Zowel als FIA-president als motorsportfan was ik erg bezorgd over de beslissing van Renault", aldus Todt in gesprek met Speed Week. "Echter, toen ik de overeenkomst las zag ik de volgende stappen van het proces. Renault is een erg serieus en goed georganiseerd bedrijf. Het zou me verbazen als ze afzien van hun overeenkomst. We moeten ze dankbaar zijn voor wat ze besloten hebben."
