Bottas: "Incident met Kimi hoefde niet zo te eindigen"

Valtteri Bottas kende een anti climax tijdens de Grand Prix van Mexico. De Williams-coureur eindigde als derde en mocht zodoende op het podium klimmen, maar zijn derde plaats kwam niet zonder slag of stoot.

In Rusland werd hij nog op het einde van de race eruit getikt door Kimi Raikkonen, die naderhand zou verklaren het volgende keer weer precies zo te doen. Nu was het echter andersom, waarbij het duel tussen de twee Finnen dit keer verkeerd afliep voor Raikkonen en Bottas door kon gaan.

De Williams-coureur verklaarde na afloop van de race: "Ik wil allereerst het team bedanken voor hun geweldige werk dit weekend. We hebben vandaag echt geracet als een winnend team. Het was geen makkelijke race maar ik ben blij op het podium te staan. Het contact en incident met Kimi was niet goed, dat had zeker niet op deze manier hoeven eindigen maar ik kon echt nergens heen, helaas."

    Kimi is zwaar gefrustreerd......en dan krijg je dit soort dingen. Een 10 plaatsen gridstraf is wel op zijn plaats gezien zijn recente historie,

    Vind het toch wel frapant dat Kimi en Bottas nu binnen zo'n korte tijd weer met elkaar in aanraking komen.
    Bottas komt goed weg met zijn 3e plek.

      Jij had het toch over staar bij Mansell? Ook dus bij Kimi. Bottas komt helemaal niet goed weg met zijn 3e plek, gewoon verdiend. Net zoals Kimi een straf verdiend.

    Raar dat Raikkonen geen straf kreeg. De botsing lijkt verdacht veel op die van Massa en Hulkenberg in Singapore.

      Die overigens ook bijna weer zijn naam eer aan deed maar de Mexicaanse goden waren de echte bonen eters onder ons vandaag goedgezind.

      Maar Maldonado ving zijn slipper mooi op; in plaats van remmend de barrier in stuurde hij 'm er met de remmen los nog net langs.

      Al met al heeft hij dit jaar helemaal niet zoveel schade veroorzaakt.
      De pech in het begin van het jaar werd steevast door een ander veroorzaakt.
      Verder in het jaar wel een paar duidelijke fouten gemaakt, maar die idiote kamikazeacties van vroeger heb ik niet gezien.
