Todt: "Clash F1 en Le Mans was onvermijdelijk"

De internationale autosportbond FIA heeft zich niet populair gemaakt door de 24 uur van Le Mans voor 2016 in hetzelfde weekend als de Grand Prix van Europa in Azerbeidzjan te programmeren. Daardoor kan Nico Hülkenberg zijn zege in Le Mans niet verdedigen. De afgelopen jaren was Le Mans steevast losgekoppeld van de Formule 1.

Voor volgend jaar bleek dat niet mogelijk. FIA-voorzitter Jean Todt legt uit: "De kalender samenstellen is altijd een lastige opgave. Je hebt te maken met 21 races in de Formule 1, tien races in de Formule E, ook tien races in het WEC en veertien races in het WRC. Probeer dan maar eens een schema te maken waarin evenementen niet samen vallen, dat is onmogelijk."

"Ik denk dat dit het beste compromis is. De race in Bakoe start na de finish van de 24 uur van Le Mans. Misschien is er een aantal rijders dat aan beide evenement wilde deelnemen en dat nu niet kan, maar het is niet anders. Sorry dat we niet tot een betere oplossing zijn gekomen."

    Er was vast wel een ándere oplossing geweest,alleen kwam deze oplossing de FIA/fom het beste uit.

    Ik zie persoonlijk niet het probleem ik vind Le Mans ook leuk maar F1 toch beter dus om een weekend vrij te laten zodat iemand die in F1 rijdt te laten deelnemen in Le Mans vind ik persoonlijk een beetje onzin.

      Het is inderdaad wat je leuker vindt, maar van de andere kant moeten ze de kampioen wel ook de kans geven om zijn titel te laten verdedigen. Als ik Hulkenberg was, dan zou ik zefs hebben gevraagt of ik niet dat weekend Le Mans mocht gaan rijden. Hij raakt ook op leeftijd en WEC is dan toch een mooie klasse om verder in te gaan. En laten we eerlijk zijn, in de F1 is Hulkenberg niet zo indrukwekkend bezig als voorheen.

      als je WEC wil rijden moet je WEC gaan rijden, maar als je F1 wil blijven rijden moet je niet zeuren dat je dan Le Mans niet kan rijden.

      Om de reden dat een coureur niet in beide kampioenschappen kan rijden snap ik. Maar er zijn ook fans die er naartoe willen, maar die ook de Formule 1 willen zien. Ik bijvoorbeeld. Nu is er geen haar op m'n hoofd die er over peinst om LeMans dan maar over te slaan trouwens....

    Wat een lulkoek, hoe dom denk hij dat de fans zijn!? Het is heel simpel, je weet wanneer Le Mans is en daar blijf je dan gewoon vanaf. Het is een weekend waar ze omheen moeten plannen en dat willen ze gewoon niet. Ik vindt het gewoon triest, ik kijk al heeeel wat jaren Le Mans en zal ook gewoon kijken zoals ik dat altijd doe. Ik er F1 op het tijdstip dat Eurosport aan het uitzenden is, jammer dan voor de F1. Ik neem het wel op en kijk de race na Le Mans.

      De F1 start na de finish van Le Mans.
      Ze hebben daar zoveel mogelijk rekening meegehouden. Alleen beide races rijden als coureur dat viel niet te plannen. Is toch niet zo raar, wat loopt iedereen nou te schreeuwen?
      Er spelen zoveel factoren mee dat het niet anders is, geen probleem toch.

    Sommige mensen zeggen dat als je F1 rijdt, je enkel met F1 rekening moet houden. Hopelijk zijn dat niet dezelfde mensen die zeggen dat het vroeger toch zoveel leuker was, toen de piloten nog verschillende klasses combineerden en je daardoor talenten beter kon vergelijken? ;-)

      Dat doet hij niet, hij zegt dat ook de Formule E én het WRC evenementen hebben waar je rekening mee moet houden.

    Ik zie het probleem niet echt. Een rijder had de intentie om deel te nemen aan Le Mans: Hulkenberg. Dus één rijder moet vervangen worden. Dat is het.. Wat een drama zeg.

    Wat een onzin van JT. Hij hoeft slechts met 1 race rekening the houden, Le Mans. Niet met 10 FE races, 10 WEC races en 21 WRC races. Slechts 1 race, Le Mans. Hoe dom denkt hij dat autosport supporters zijn?
