Matsushita wil binnen drie jaar de F1 betreden

Honda-protegé Nobuharu Matsushita hoopt het binnen drie jaar tot de Formule 1 te schoppen. De 22-jarige Japanner debuteerde dit jaar in de GP2 en deed dat niet onverdienstelijk. Hij won de sprintrace in Hongarije en bezet de elfde plaats in de tussenstand met 50,5 punten.

Matsushita liet aan Motorsport.com weten: "Ik doe volgend seizoen waarschijnlijk weer GP2, probeer dan meer goede resultaten te halen in een poging om me op te werken tot reserve- of testrijder in de Formule 1. Binnen drie jaar wil ik op de Formule 1-grid staan."

"Ik ben een Honda-coureur, McLaren bekommert zich niet om mijn carrière. Als de keuze voor 2016 op de GP2 valt, dan het liefst weer bij ART Grand Prix. Dat hangt allemaal af van Honda. Het is nog niet bepaald, dat gebeurt mogelijk pas na het seizoen. Er is nog niets definitief."

Gewoon volhouden Japan, op een dag hebben jullie ook een Senna of een Verstappen.

    Om de een of andere reden wil het maar niet echt lukken met Japanse coureurs in de F1.
    Gewoon volhouden Japan, op een dag hebben jullie ook een Senna of een Verstappen.

    Ik hoop niet dat hij dit zo heeft gezegd, dat McLaren zich niet bekommert om zijn carrière. Niet echt de meest snelle manier om op een shortlist van rijders van een team te komen.

      Wel de snelste manier om van de shortlist af te komen........maar ja, bij McLaren maakt het niet heel veel uit of je als jonge coureur op de shortlist staat, meer dan 1 jaar krijg je waarschijnlijk niet, en dan is daarna je F1 carrière grotendeels voorbij (vgl Perez over Magnussen) ;)

      Zegt meer wat hoe McLaren zijn juniorprogramma is. Is gewoon onbeschoft hoe ze bijvoorbeeld met Magnussen zijn omgegaan en hadden ze ook veel eerder kunnen beslissen.

      Honda zal binnen enkele jaren meer teams van power voorzien. Dus wellicht zien we hem in de toekomst bij Sauber-Honda of Force India-Honda?!

      Ik begrijp niet dat mensen het onbeschoft vinden? Magnussen heeft een jaar de kans gekregen van McLaren en heeft in dat jaar niets kunnen winnen tov Button. McLaren ziet beter dan jij of ik hoe de progressie van Magnussen was, dus ze zullen wel een helder oordeel kunnen geven. Geen enkel ander team heeft hem opgepikt en Haas zette Grosjean boven hem.

      Ik vind het niet onbeschoft als je een rijder laat debuteren in de formule 1 en dus een eerlijke kans geeft. Zelfde met die zogezegd oneerlijk behandelde Red Bull talenten...
