Vettel gaat voor winst in laatste twee races

Na een seizoen zonder overwinningen bij Red Bull Racing in 2014 maakte Sebastian Vettel in de winter de overstap naar Ferrari. De viervoudig wereldkampioen won dit jaar al drie races en hoopt de komende twee races de overwinning te kunnen pakken. De Duitser kende een matige race in Mexico City en is vastberaden om in de laatste twee races van dit seizoen toe te slaan.

Het team van Ferrari beleefde in Mexico een dramatische race. De race van Vettel was na een lekke band in de openingsronde praktisch voorbij, terwijl teamgenoot Kimi Raikkonen uitviel na een aanrijding met zijn landgenoot Valtteri Bottas. Het was voor het eerst dit seizoen dat geen van beide Ferrari's geen punten wist te scoren.

"De race in Mexico City was waarschijnlijk onze slechtste race van het seizoen, maar we hebben dit jaar ook veel goede races gehad en we blijven het gat richting Mercedes dichten. Onze snelheid was in Mexico niet slecht, maar we bevonden ons geen moment in een positie om de race te winnen. De komend races zullen we alles geven en het leven van Mercedes zuur proberen te maken", aldus Vettel.

Volgens Vettel was het slechte weekend in Mexico een incident. Hoewel Vettel zich beseft dat het verslaan van Mercedes een pittige klus wordt, gaat de Duitser de uitdaging graag aan: "Er zijn nog twee races te gaan en nog twee overwinningen te pakken. Ons doel om de winst te pakken in de laatste races, al wordt dat niet eenvoudig. Het team heeft dit seizoen geweldig werk geleverd. Negen maanden geleden waren we meer dan een seconde langzamer dan Mercedes, momenteel is het gat rond een halve seconde en op sommige circuits zelfs minder."

Het schijnt dat Manor gaat voor uitrijden, dat force india gaat voor een goede top 8 klassering, dat Torro Rosso voor lotus wilt eindigen, dat mclaren netjes in de punten wilt eindigen met 2 auto's en dat Sauber dit weekend 3 extra rijders wilt contracteren.

Ik houd wel van dit soort berichten hoor, begrijp me niet verkeerd. Geeft me wat te lezen als we staan te wachten op de pond.

De korte circuits zeker? ;-)

Een halve seconde op ruim 4km is natuurlijk een super klein verschil als je na die ene halve seconde kijkt. 57x een halve seconde is een groter verschil om te dichten.

  Een halve seconde is in 1 winter te dichten. Mits je een nog beter chassis en een sterkere motor weet te bouwen. Maar ja tja dat chassis hè.. Haas heeft gezegd dat hun chassis op punten beter is dus ja wat kan je verwachten. Ferrari op p18 of Haas op p4? Wie weet dicht Haas die halve seconde wel en vliegt Romain er in de eerste bocht vanaf p1 vanaf doordat Hamilton. "He hit me he hit me"
