Ferrari hoopt nog tijd te kunnen vinden ten opzichte van Mercedes

Na een dramatisch verlopen race in Mexico City, waar beide coureurs door een crash uitvielen, hoopt Ferrari zich in Brazilië te kunnen herpakken. Sebastian Vettel heeft nog steeds hoop dat hij de tweede plek in het rijderskampioenschap over kan nemen van zijn landgenoot Nico Rosberg. Ferrari deed het op vrijdag niet slecht in Sao Paulo, maar weet ook dat er nog veel tijd gevonden moet worden om Mercedes partij te kunnen bieden.

Sebastian Vettel beseft dat er werk aan de winkel is voor de derde vrije training: "We kunnen concluderen dat we een seconde te langzaam zijn en dat is teveel. Het was vrij lastig vandaag, vooral vanwege de lichte regen tijdens de tweede training. We moeten de data analyseren om te kijken of we voor de kwalificatie een stap voorwaarts kunnen zetten."

Voor Kimi Raikkonen verliep de dag ook niet vlekkeloos. De Fin spreekt over een 'rommelige' vrijdag: "In de eerste vrije training maakte ik zelf een fout en remde ik een vlakke plek op een van mijn banden. Tijdens de tweede sessie was er de dreiging van regen en als we buiten waren gebeurden er op de baan dingen waardoor we ons niet konden verbeteren. Ik ben blij met de hoeveelheid ronden die we konden doen en ook de snelheid over een ronde ziet er niet heel slecht uit."
