Red Bull Racing spendeerde 285 miljoen in 2014

Red Bull Racing heeft vorig jaar als eerste Formule 1-team de grens van 200 miljoen pond doorbroken, schrijft The Telegraph. Volgens het jaarverslag van de Oostenrijkse renstal steeg het budget in 2014 met 7,4 miljoen pond naar 203,6 miljoen pond. Dat is ongeveer 285 miljoen euro.

De grootste kostenpost was research & development, onderzoek en ontwikkeling. Daar gaf Red Bull Racing ruim 80 miljoen pond aan uit. Het personeelsbestand werd met 19 nieuwe medewerkers uitgebreid naar 694 teamleden. Zij streken in totaal 62,9 miljoen pond aan salaris op, met een jaarloon van 2,6 miljoen pond voor teambaas Christian Horner.

Red Bull Racing moest vorig jaar na de eerste tests terug naar de tekentafel om de nieuwe 1.6 liter V6 turbomotor beter in de bolide te passen. De Oostenrijkse renstal verklaart: "De omschakeling naar nieuwe technische reglementen, vooral de aanpassing aan de nieuwe aandrijflijn, dreef de kosten aanzienlijk op."

Horner krijgt ook nog een heel smak geld uitgekeerd door zijn 'persoonlijke' sponsor Red Bull. Ik weet ook niet precies waarom ze het zo doen maar zou wel te maken hebben met belastingen die afgedragen dienen te worden!?
