Renault nog immer schimmig over F1-toekomst

Renault weigert al iets los te laten over de toekomstplannen voor de Formule 1. De Franse autofabrikant verkent al tijden de mogelijkheden om Lotus over te nemen en een eigen fabrieksteam aan de start te brengen, maar de kogel is nog altijd niet door de kerk. Het kan zijn dat Renault in Abu Dhabi met nieuws naar buiten treedt, maar het kan ook niet.

Dat is de strekking van een verhaal van Cyril Abiteboul van Renault Sport F1 op Motorsport.com. "Een aankondiging is mogelijk in Abu Dhabi, of na Abu Dhabi, of misschien wel voor Abu Dhabi. Dat is de timing waar we nu aan denken, een paar dagen voor en een paar dagen na de Grand Prix. Daarbinnen zal het waarschijnlijk wel gebeuren. We hebben alleen nog geen exacte datum, omdat we er nog niet uit zijn waar het proces precies toe leidt."

"Op de achtergrond gaat het werk onverminderd door. Lotus bevindt zich in een complexe situatie, er lopen twee mogelijke paden parallel aan elkaar. Het ene pad loopt naar de koop van Lotus, een firma met een nalatenschap. Dat is geen kritiek, maar het is wel iets waar we met juristen en notarissen over moeten praten. Tegelijkertijd is Renault nog steeds de eigen rol in de Formule 1 aan het beoordelen. Dat is de stand van de zaken op dit moment."

    Ze weten echt wat ze willen daar bij Renault. Ik zou lkkr w8ten tot maart 2016. Tijd zat toch. Ondertussen gaat Lotus langzaam naar de kloten.

    Dagelijks werkzaam met onze zuiderburen kan ik je één ding verzekeren, de term met de Franse slag is niet zomaar uit de lucht komen vallen..

    Een fransman en een deadline zijn praktisch onverenigbaar, ze zullen altijd 1 minuut OVER twaalf hun krabbel zetten als het even kan, is gewoon culturele principekwestie voor ze ;)

    In iedergeval is het niet slim wat ze doen, de tijd word voor hun ook steeds korter. Als ze een goede wagen willen ontwikkelen zullen ze toch snel aan de slag moeten, anders word het volgend seizoen ook niks.

    Ik begin er een lijn in te zien. De basis van de Renault motor was van het begin slecht en waarschijnlijk is het nutteloos om daar voort op te borduren. Dus maar geld geven om Lotus drijvend te houden in ruil voor info over de Mercedes krachtbron. Vervolgens een ex Mercedes techneut aannemen om de gaten in de info van Lotus in te vullen en een Mercedes kopie te bouwen. Alleen de raad van commissarissen twijfelt nog of de investeringen om helemaal van nul te beginnen wel raadzaam zijn.

    Ik kan me niet voorstellen dat Renault voor de motor een specialist van Mercedes betrekt, om vervolgens uit de sport de treden, dit lijkt me bijzonder onlogisch..

    Na 8 december punt

    Dan gaan we weten dat Lotus failliet is, dat er een curator komt die de hele inboedel voor een schijntje verpatst aan supertec (briatore) en dat Renault de F1 plannen in de koelkast laat staan tot er weer een directeur komt die wel iets met autosport heeft. Briatore koopt kennis en kunde in voor motoren bij Renault sport net als toen Renault eind jaren 90 de F1 verliet en zorgt dat Renault dus op de achtergrond zich blijft ontwikkelen in plaats van dat Renault ineens out of the blue een vers team uit de grond moet stampen.

    Als ik geld teveel zou hebben zou ik hier geld op inzetten

    Leest net op motorsport dat Renault zelfs overweegt om Mario Illien in te huren om de boel daar op orde te krijgen.

    Het word tijd dat er duidelijkheid komt in dit verhaal......
