Alexander Wurz heeft zijn helm aan de wilgen gehangen. De Oostenrijker nam afgelopen weekend afscheid als actieve coureur. Hij zal wel werkzaam blijven in de wereld van de autosport, alleen is het nog de vraag in welke hoedanigheid. De organisatie van het WEC stelde de paddock in Bahrein in de gelegenheid om een groet uit te brengen aan de gestopte Wurz.

Nooit het maximale uit zijn carriere kunnen halen maar zat er zeker in, beetje Trulli, Fisichella, Verstappen type.
