Lewis Hamilton werd in 2012 voor gek verklaard toen hij aankondigde dat hij McLaren na dat jaar zou verruilen voor Mercedes. McLaren was toen nog het gevestigde topteam, terwijl Mercedes nog in opkomst was. Anno 2015 zijn de verhoudingen compleet anders. In deel 2 van 'The Man Behind The Champion Lewis Hamilton' praat de Brit over zijn beslissing om McLaren te verlaten.

Kunt zeggen wat je wilt over de beste man, maar dit vind ik dan toch wel netjes klinken. Ik snap zijn keuze, alles gewonnen wat er te winnen was bij McLaren en door voor een nieuwe uitdaging. Dat deze dan zeer positief voor hem uitpakte, is fijn voor hem.
