Plaats in opleiding van Ferrari lonkt voor Leclerc

Ferrari reserveert voor volgend jaar een plekje in het opleidingsprogramma voor Charles Leclerc. Dat meldt Autosprint. Leclerc was dit seizoen dé sensatie van de eerste seizoenshelft in het Europees kampioenschap Formule 3. Als debutant voerde hij op een gegeven moment zelfs de ranglijst aan.

Dat kon de Van Amersfoort Racing-coureur niet volhouden, hij zakte uiteindelijk nog naar de vierde positie in de eindstand. Leclerc heeft echter voldoende indruk gemaakt op de bewindvoerders in Maranello. De 18-jarige Monegask kan zich opmaken voor de Ferrari Driver Academy.

De Scuderia koestert namelijk geen plannen om het opleidingsprogramma op te doeken, ondanks het aanstaande vertrek van Lance Stroll naar Williams en een mogelijk afscheid van Luca Baldisserri. De wegen van Raffaele Marciello en Ferrari lijken na dit jaar te scheiden. Leclerc voegt zich dan bij talenten Antonio Fuoco en Yu Zhou.

En ook beter dan Stroll. Leclerc is inderdaad een talentvolle coureur die Van Amersfoort weer verder op de kaart heeft gezet als opleidingsteam. Misschien dat Van Amersfoort eens met Ferrari moet gaan praten over een samenwerking, als een soort on-officieel opleidingsteam.

    Dat zou mooi voor hem zijn, het is een talentvolle jongen met een goede toekomst met de juiste ondersteuning. Beter dan Marciello en Fuoco....

      Marciello heeft zijn kans gekregen maar kon niet blijven presteren op hoog niveau.
      Vrees voor hem dat hij nooit in de F1 geraakt.
      Is een beetje hetzelfde verhaal als bij Evans.
      Talent zat, kampioen in lagere reeksen maar in de GP2 niet echt bevestigd.

      @Jan Almere: kan je aub leestekens gebruiken? Dat verhoogt de leesbaarheid. Leestekens zijn daarvoor trouwens uitgevonden!
