Rosberg richting de 150.000 euro voor goed doel

Mercedes-coureur Nico Rosberg doet zijn stinkende best om zo goed mogelijk te presteren. Niet alleen voor zichzelf, maar ook voor het goede doel. De Duitser is namelijk ambassadeur van Laureus en beloofde voor de Laureus Awards van begin dit jaar dat Mercedes-Benz vanaf de Chinese Grand Prix 100 euro zou doneren voor elke kilometer die hij aan de leiding zou rijden.

De teller staat nu op meer dan 130.000 euro. Afhankelijk van hoe het Rosberg in Abu Dhabi vergaat, zou hij de 150.000 euro kunnen overschrijden. Daarmee helpt Laureus het leven van jonge mensen over de hele wereld te verbeteren. Rosberg: "Het doet me deugd dat #DriveforGood zo'n succes is gebleken. De afgelopen races droegen daar flink aan bij en ik ben blij om het seizoen sterk te eindigen."

"Ik wil daar in Abu Dhabi een mooi sluitstuk aan toevoegen. Niet alleen omdat ik dan met een prettig gevoel de winter in kan, maar ook omdat ik dan veel geld ophaal voor Laureus. Het is een goed doel dat me na aan het hart ligt en ik ben trots dat ik ambassadeur voor deze stichting ben. Het is een bron van inspiratie om te zien wat Laureus allemaal doet voor kansarme kinderen."

Ik vraag mij af waarom altijd anderen met het geld moeten komen bij dit soort zaken. Het is altijd een of andere stinkend rijke sporter. Als het hem zo aan het hart gaat stort hij toch een paar miljoen?

    Ik vraag mij af waarom altijd anderen met het geld moeten komen bij dit soort zaken. Het is altijd een of andere stinkend rijke sporter. Als het hem zo aan het hart gaat stort hij toch een paar miljoen?

      Wellicht doen ze dat ook maar zonder daar ruchtbaarheid aan te geven. Wel zo netjes.

      Dit is juist om zoveel mogelijk ruchtbaarheid te geven en zo het goed doel zoveel mogelijk onder de aandacht te brengen.

      Inderdaad James... door hun publiciteit kunnen zij het makkelijker onder de aandacht brengen. Dat genereert ook inkomsten voor het goede doel... Ook al zou hij niets storten, enkel PR is het toch ook goed?! Hij verbindt z'n er al aan = media-aandacht

      ook voor deze gasten is een paar miljoen nog steeds best veel geld. Als jij 40.000 op de bank zou hebben staan dan is het te vergelijken met 150 euro weggeven als je die 150.000 weg zet tegen wat ongeveer het geschatte vermogen is van Nico. Kortom een paar miljoen zou dan vergelijkbaar zijn dat jij 2000 euro aan een goed doel geeft. Doe jij dat dan ook echt eventjes?

    @ Jacko: ik verbaas mij telkens weer over mensen hoe die kunnen oordelen over andermans portomonnee. Wees blij dat ze iig geven ipv ze zouden veel meer kunnen geven. Lekker makkelijk, geld uitgeven wat niet van jou is en bovendien niet wetende wat zij allemaal nog meer doen voor goede doelen.
