Het team van Williams kende geen geweldige kwalificatie op het Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. Valtteri Bottas en Felipe Massa starten de race als zesde en achtste, maar de mannen uit Grove hadden op meer gehoopt. Toch zijn zowel Bottas als Massa hoopvol op een goede race.

"We hadden iets meer van de kwalificatie verwacht, maar ik denk dat we een competitieve auto hebben om te vechten met Force India, Red Bull en hopelijk Ferrari", aldus Bottas. "De balans was goed vandaag, we missen alleen het hele weekend al wat snelheid. Het zou een interessante race moeten worden en we zullen tot het einde blijven vechten."

Massa start twee plaatsen achter zijn Finse teamgenoot, maar ook de Braziliaan rekent op een spannende laatste race van 2015. "Mijn ronde was niet eens zo slecht, de tijden vooraan waren gewoon erg competitief", vertelt Massa. "Force India is erg sterk hier. Onze snelheid in de lange runs is goed, maar de auto's voor ons zijn snel. De race wordt ontzettend spannend, het wordt een echte strijd."
