Kimi Raikkonen kende geen geweldig seizoen bij Ferrari. De Fin moest zijn teamgenoot Sebastian Vettel voor zich dulden, maar in Abu Dhabi reed Raikkonen een sterk weekend. Na afloop van de race mocht de Ferrari-coureur dan ook weer eens naar het podium.

"Het was geen ideaal seizoen voor mij, maar zo gaat het soms", aldus Raikkonen na afloop van de race op het podium. "De snelheid was vaak goed dit seizoen, maar er waren fouten van mij of problemen met de auto. Het resultaat was vaak niet gewenst, maar vandaag ging alles een stuk beter."

"Iedereen heeft heel hard gewerkt dit weekend, en alles liep soepel. Het was niet genoeg om Mercedes te verslaan, maar we hebben ontzettend ons best gedaan", besluit Raikkonen zijn verhaal.
