Renault voltooit koop Lotus F1 op 16 december

De rechter heeft Lotus weer twee weken uitstel gegeven in de zaak over de belastingschuld van de Britse renstal. Reuters bericht dat de volgende hoorzitting gepland staat voor 21 december. Het lijkt een formaliteit, aangezien Renault het team van Lotus overneemt.

De Franse autofabrikant heeft beloofd om op 16 december de laatste hand te leggen aan de overname en om voor het einde van het jaar alle schuldeisers, waaronder de Britse belastingdienst, af te betalen. Dat verklaarde Lotus-directeur Matthew Carter buiten de rechtbank.

"De 16de formaliseren we de overdracht van de aandelen en Renault is akkoord gegaan met het betalen van de crediteuren voor de 31ste. Dus op de 21ste zullen we weer voor de rechter staan om aan te tonen dat de overname is voltooid. Het is een interessant proces, maar we zijn waar we zijn."
