Nieuwe Williams verschilt drastisch van de FW37

De Williams-auto voor 2016 zal er significant anders uitzien dan de wagen waarmee de Britse renstal in 2015 racete. Die belofte is afkomstig van hoofdengineer Rob Smedley. Williams was al vroeg in het seizoen vrij zeker van de derde plek en kon de aandacht daardoor verschuiven naar de komend jaren.

Smedley: "De bolide voor 2016 bevindt zich in de windtunnel en is drastisch anders dan de FW37. Daarom konden we op aerodynamisch vlak weinig experimenteren in de laatste races van dit jaar. Op gebied van research & development en mechanisch hebben we wel het een en ander uitgeprobeerd."

"Wat we op dit moment allemaal zien is goed. We halen onze doelstellingen. We kijken daarbij niet alleen naar de cijfers, maar ook naar de aerodynamische ontwikkeling. Het proces is erop gericht om ons verder naar voren te helpen. Tot op heden zijn we tevreden over hetgeen we zien."
